Hey folks trying to get a discord server going for listening parties for Chorus.fm. If any of you are interested, I'm throwing shrine on at 8PM EST. I have it set up that if you connect to voice chat you'll hear the album all at the same time. Figure it could be a neat way to simultaneously listen and chat about the album together. Here is the link https://discord.gg/49w4J3f
Also playing Underoath's Lost in the Sound of Separation as the pre-show if you want to hop in early.
To add to that confusion, I remember reading somewhere (Facebook?) that Billy actually sings the chorus to Greenville, MO on No Matter How Narrow and that blew my mind. Sounds exactly like Mason and I thought it was him for a long time.
Haha yeah I brought that up a few pages back. No one seemed to believe me? He and Mason trade lines in the chorus. You really have to try to notice the difference. I remember reading he also sings parts of the chorus to Already Spent by Tigers on Trains.
People need to listen to Year Fifteen (Billy’s solo project) to better understand what his singing voice sounds like. Some songs feature Mason, Christian and Gregg. TROW has four guys who sing. Well, before Gregg left.
I am familiar with The Year Fifteen and am familiar with Billy's voice. You're actually the one that didn't believe me when I brought up Billy singing on Greenville haha.
Re reading some of the interviews they did before the release of Shrine and Mason mentioned they are planning on releasing some acoustic versions of some of the songs. Wonder when that will be...
They are all great singers. It's cool when they all sing different parts. Greenville is an amazing track.
My favourite off that album. One of favourite things is that they have multiple vocalS in this band and in the projects (but it’s the same collection of guys).
These guys can do no wrong. I hope we don't have to wait 5-6 years again to hear more stuff from them lol.
Yeah wish all 13 tracks were on there, but then I think it would have needed to be a double LP, so I understand.
Also just snooped their crowdfunding site and pretty happy I didn’t miss out on any crazy awesome crowdfunding exclusive variant.
When you fine folks say different versions it makes me think of His Old Branches/His Black Teeth, or like an acoustic version of the album.
TROW's greatest strengths aren't necessarily that their songs are catchy but goddamn if colored out isn't a banger and also a great song by their other metrics as well
This album is stuck in rotation for me, I can truly say that it will be in my top 5 this year for sure
