Love that little acoustic guitar at the end of Bask. Nice touch. So much going on in that track leading up to the bridge. I say this everyday but I really gotta play this album with a good pair of headphones.
Sundials is a super underrated track on here. No one has really talked about it and I think it's great. Really connecting with the lyrics in that one.
I love this album so much that to beat my insomnia I went to the hospital and got put into a medically-induced coma for the last 24 hours just so I could do nothing else but listen to this record on a loop and contemplate it against the backdrop of the vast nothingness of oblivion
God I’m still suffering through The dialogues I didn’t have with you But I envied you for your sanity Until it fell upon me
I think they made the right call to leave those other ones off. It's awesome to have them but like @teebs41 said before I think the 10 best made the cut. Although I'll sound like a broken record when I say this but Born Blind really wouldn't of been out of place if they included it on the standard version that's for sure.
yea I love both versions but lately I've just been doing standard. i want to really get to know these 10 songs inside and out, and it feels very much like a complete work. I figure once I play the hell out of the 10 song version I can go to the 13 one and it will feel fresh haha
The lyrics for the bonus tracks as just as strong as the album tracks so they are certainly not typical B-sides
And also because they are integrated seamlessly into the track listing and the album flows just as well with them so yeah both versions are fucking incredible. It's crazy.
finally listened to this on the way to work this morning, only made it halfway through but it's really good! Dialogues was the last one I got to hear but damn what a song
I asked the band on fb about cartographer and varuna represses and they said they'd like to do them at some point. i've been scouring discogs and vinylcollective
Yeah Dialogues and Birdless Cage to me are top tracks on the album. But it constantly changes because everything else is so strong in its own right. But those two have been a constant for me at the top.
I love how The Canyon begins with the click and its at the very end of the closer too. Anyone know what that is at the beginning of The Canyon?
