I feel the same way. I remember a very few of us posting and sharing some tracks back and forth and keeping the threads going. Glad so many people have caught in to this band. This site and board continues to expose me to new music which is what this place is and should be about. TROW have never really received a big push or supporting tour spot from a band. Sometimes that’s really what it takes. I think of bands I liked growing up, like face to face, who took a young Brand New, Thrice, Saves The Day, Moviife, MCR and others our. They all got big or even bigger than before. I would love to see a favourite of mine like Thrice have open on the east coast or something. I feel like they, or a Manchester Orchestra or something could help bump them up to a Moving Mountains or All get Out status.
That first bonus track is so dynamic and different for them. I fucking love it. Had to pause the album but back on board now! I need albums like this to remind me the fucking thrill that music provides and also a community like this that is so passionate about the same thing I am always makes it even more special.
TROW missed a lot of those opportunities since they were almost all in school. If I remember correctly, they had offers from Equal Vision and others, but declined so they could finish their educations. And from recent interviews, it seems like they shopped this record around to some labels. Nothing came of it, apparently.
who wouldn't want this record haha its blowing up without proper backing.. imagine what this would do on a big label
Totally agree my dude. Someone needs to get in touch with Riley from Thrice (well more than one of us should) and tell him about this record. I always love when he posts what he's listening to on instragram. I could totally see them fitting on a bill with Thrice or Manchester. Match made in heaven tbh.
is this the only place the albums really blowing up in? Like i know this has a far reach but not what it used to
I feel like the regulars that will posts in this thread are really going to bond over this record. Nice to meet you btw @AngryMan @.K. @Carrow @loudasallgetout @Transient_Hymn @thevastminority @Night_Sky
I'm supposed to try and get some work done rn but its v hard when this album is playing. Blasting it so loud.
Mason talks about their desire to be signed by a label in this interview, but not necessarily "shopping the album around." I may be mistaken there. Sputnikmusic - Interview: The Republic of Wolves « Staff Blog I don’t think we have one unified vision of an ultimate goal for the band, but we definitely haven’t reached it by any of our standards. At the end of the day we want to be able to make careers out of music, and to commit the majority of our time and energy to writing, recording, and performing. At this point that isn’t possible, so we’ve all got other things going on to make ends meet. I think what we’re really waiting and hoping for is the day that a serious record label reaches out and says they want to invest in us and support us. If we can immerse ourselves fully into the creative process without having to worry about how we’re going to pay our bills, that’s all we could really ask for.
