damn i hadnt even read that interview. thats pretty neat they like to draw from a lot of mythologies and folklore from other religions or countries. Varuna is a Hindu figure for example. plus the various christian/islamic/hebrew references. very similar to Aaron Weiss' songwriting
I've been championing this band since forever, it makes me really happy to see all this positivity surrounding this album. I wish I could do something more than sharing this everywhere and supporting everything they put out. A big band band needs to take this band on tour. Would love it if Thrice would.
Let's do it and LET'S GET TO WORK! After playing the standard 3 times in a row I'm back wanting to play the extended version more. About to listen to it for a second time this afternoon.
Yes that would be an excellent choice or even Manchester would be sweet. That's why I said if they played The Stuffing it would give them a decent amount of exposure.
The instrumental part of "Worry If You Want" before it really goes off at the 4-minute mark reminds me so much of "Only In Dreams" by Weezer. Even parts of the solo do. Also, I wonder if the similarities in the melody of the lines "Worry if you want" and "I don't want your fury" from Sundials were intentional.
I finally got a chance to listen to the bonus tracks. I was caught of guard by Thurisaz at first, but I really like it, that little bend in the background before the chorus is so good. Born Blind is every bit as good as the other tracks here and I definitely see the BN influence here. I think on first listen Amaterasu is my favorite of the bonus tracks. I really appreciate the more ambiance and laid back nature of that one. " Your pain keeps on conquering time, it's expanding through the hours like an empire".
Oh shit. I've tweeted 5 times in my life and tweeted about the band / album yesterday and just saw that like 25 people liked it and retweeted it - including the fucking band!!!! I'm totally 12 year old girl screaming right now. I'm so famous. *insert that Jonah Hill waving hands / screaming gif*
The lyrics in Amaterasu are great. I love the way this part is sung and the lyrics: "Cause time is a vanishing act the more we try and count it the less of it we have and if fear would stop pursuing your heart you might finally see the reasons why it needed to start"
I feel like if this would get to Riley Breckenridge's ears he would like it, and doesn't he usually post about what he's listening to? I don't have a twitter so I can't do it myself.
