They flow perfectly integrated in the track listing. It's definitely what they were going on as evidence by this pic:
Dialogues is one of the catchiest songs on here yet I certainly wouldn't say its one of the poppiest. One of their very best among an album full of standouts.
Love so many of the leads on this record. Born Blind and Ore immediately come to mind. But yeah they all have a way of drawing you in instantly. It's intoxicating. Ok gotta stop raving and get some actual work done now haha
you could take the 3 bonus tracks from this and put them with the In The House Of Dust tracks and make a really cool little EP too 13 track version flows well though
Has anyone sent them this thread? I feel like they would be super stoked to see the traction it is getting...atleast with the 20 people posting like crazy
The Republic of Wolves talk new album, gaining exposure & more in exclusive interview - All Punked Up
Damn. Sounds like these guys could really use a break in a big way. Hopefully this album blows them up.
Thanks to @teebs41 for informing the thread last week, I got the Extended Version yesterday by messaging the band directly. Couldn't justify the shipping on the vinyl over to the UK at the moment (Hopefully it's still available in a few weeks).
Completely agree with those pointed out the vocal parallels to Chris Martin, luckily it's not that similar because I'm not really a fan of Martin's voice (Probably the only reason I'm not a fan of Coldplay). Also am I the only one that thinks the verses of Sundials sounds very Oasis and the vocal melody in the chorus is akin to +44 era Mark Hoppus?
@littlejohn you haven't answered me yet so I will take your silence as a no then. @bachna84 promised he would play it soon and come in the album thread after. Hopefully he's a man of his work. (I think he is on Chorus at least)
Soon may be tomorrow morning, bud! Today was a pretty hectic day and I wasn’t able to do much listening at all. I want to give this my full, undivided attention.
No worries my friend! That's a wise decision especially for a first listen. You will definitely appreciate it more with less distractions.
so "yume" means "dream" in japanese so thats a neat way to tie into the lyrics of the closer. Mitama is the word used to describe the souls of spirits or of the deceased in japanese as well. Thurisaz is the name for giants in norse folklore and amaterasu is the japanese goddess of the sun/universe which continues their trend of grabbing a lot of ideas and concepts from various religions and folklore stories. i guess the title of the album also kinda ties in with japanese shrines, even the artwork looks like japanese water art.
Relevant portion of the interview posted above: Japanese folklore and mythology were our biggest resources in terms of imagery for this particular record, and thematically that opened a lot of doors to interesting and relatable analogies.
The plot thickens....can't wait to dive into these lyrics more. There's so much to dig in and discover still.
One of my favorite parts and lyrics are on The Canyon and Yume love how the opener and closer are so connected.
Okay, thread it’s our job to push this album, idk how. I already tweeted ian Cohen saying it’s a must listen haha
