I’m four tracks in and this is absolutely brilliant. Holy fuck.

 

I was wondering how Gregg’s vocals could have played into this. I think he definitely had part of Mitma based on some of the older YouTube videos. I’d say the album doesn’t really miss him. But probably could have added a nice touch in some places. Love his voice.

 

Was Gregg on all previous stuff? I’m new to this band.

This is the only album he's not on, but he wasn't really involved in the last one either.

 

Okay wow... I just finished my first listen of this and I’m absolutely floored. Gonna dive into their previous stuff over the next few days, and when I’m back home from vacation I’m gonna buy the deluxe edition of this. You guys said the only way to get the deluxe is by messaging the band on Facebook?

 

Google Play Music doesn’t have virtually any of their old stuff which is annoying, so I’m gonna buy it all on iTunes.

 

Not sure if you buy vinyl, but if you do, they have a vinyl available that will get you the deluxe version.

His solo work American Gospel is really great too. Everyone should check that out.

 

there's a bunch of solo projects from members of this band, my old site premiered a song of billy's solo project several years ago too

 

if they were ever going to tour on an album this is the one they would do it too. I think it will be interesting to see if this album continues to blow up like I think it will. I think they have a really high ceiling with audiences they could appeal to.

How’s it sound on decent headphones? I gave it some spin on my car speakers this morning and it seemed to suffer from some of the same mixing problems I had with some of their other stuff. It has me pretty interested to return when I can though.

And all the solo projects feature vocal cameos from other members of the wolves. Love it.

I just got done listening. It’s very good and there are some definite nods to Brand New. Is it my AOTY? No.

I don’t know if I’ve ever listened to an album once and made AOTY statements, one way or the other. There is still 8 months left in the year haha.

 

why does the big burst in the first song sound like it's inside of a tin can instead of being totally massive????

 

Yeah that’s my thought too, things are always way too bright.
