I would start with this one or His Old Branches, and save The Cartographer and No Matter How Narrow for last, since they are the outliers of the discography, imo.
i honestly havent heard anything that sounds like this since as cities burn or as tall of lions were in their prime.
my one complaint is that the clean vocals sound like christ martin sometimes lol. the unclean vocals are fucking ace though.
chris martin is a great vocalist! so its not an insult! i just dont like coldplay and think of them sometimes on his cleans. im sure itll wear off.
he also kinda sounds like the guy from as tall as lions so if i focus on that i might unhear chris martin
these guys definitely follow the lienage of bands who were equally inspired by radiohead and third wave emo. really love this style when done right.
i keep coming up with more and more comparisons that consist of so many bands ive been missing since they arent around anymore (or barely). crime in stereo, as tall as lions, as cities burn, the felix culpa, etc.
so i think this is gonna be something special, im only halfway through but cant wait to go back to the tracks ive already heard and dig in more
Haha I didn't really take it as an insult, it was just a friendly play on your typo..."christ" martin.
this album needs to blow the fuck up around here. no fucking reason why this shouldnt be the biggest scene release of the year. this has it all.
im sorry but im listening to dialogues again that was fucking jaw dropping, i havent heard a band in this genre do something like that in a long time
They do a really cool some signature thing in the post chorus of ore and I cant figure it out lol.. and you know I love counting... but yea that’s a top 3 song on here for me as well. Great bridge too
