    Happy However After:

my favorite record of the year besides The Family Crest - The War: Act I.

Since I'm part of the Patreon, the songs aren't new. However, there's some stuff coming out on the next that were shared to Patreon that I enjoy as much if not more than anything on Happy However After.

"Poor & Hungry Kings" namely, is catchy as hell.

I remember an AltPress review ripping these guys a new one, compared them to Josh Groban on a cruise ship lol

Let It Go was a good song. All in all though I miss This Day and Age more than I like this band

I just taught myself the intro to Let It Go on the piano, it’s so satisfying to play

AltPress is garbage so I'm not surprised

  6. I’m finally seeing them in a couple weeks (never saw TDAA either). Catching up on their album from last year and “Human Convention” is an unreal song.

yeah same here. Sucks though, The Claypool/Lennon Delirium is playing the same evening and I've never seen them.

Sucks having to miss a concert for another, but hopefully TCLD will be back.

bumping an ancient thread. Kindo singer on this new Scale the Summit song. Pretty wild.

That's a weird looking guitar lol.

It's so weird how much I loved his voice and melodies on everything up until they started doing the patreon stuff and since then I've just been liking his style less and less. He seems to sing a lot faster and is maybe less conventional melody wise but the songs just haven't done a lot for me sadly.

People raised in faith based environments sure have a lot to work through to overcome the brainwashing/echo chambers/“alternative” information

  17. That’s… not the way I expected to hear from this band for the first time in years

  18. I've thought about this post so much today. It's disappointing, of course, but I don't know these guys personally and I'm not really surprised anymore when a musician I like says or does something dumb. Mostly I'm just fascinated with how carefully it's written to draw you in and get you to sympathize with the plight of an artist affected by the pandemic before sliding into the conservative language on the second page. It was like a plot twist — "Wait, what exactly am I reading? Oh, that's why they had three tours canceled."

Cry me a fucking river dude. That statement is so cringeworthy.

“Plot twist” is a great way of describing how I felt too. It’s definitely carefully written to make the reader feel bad for them… but once you know the full context it’s hard not to feel the conservative persecution/victim complex bleeding through the post.

Didn't they start at Christian rock? I'm not all that surprised

    I do not exist.

Saw the thread bumped and thought “that’s a band I haven’t heard for a while…”

Momentary excitement negated - ostracised and excluded from society?! Oh dear.
