Been getting really into This Day & Age over the holidays... The Bell & the Hammer is phenomenal! It's crazy how Reign of Kindo is already releasing tracks from a second album on their Patreon haha... hopefully the first album sees a physical release soon, those 10 tracks are all great!
I still haven't really listened to them because I'm waiting for the album order but when I've skimmed through I've been kind of disappointed. Hopefully I'll like them more after a few listens.
Interesting. Are you mostly into their earlier releases, or is this the first time you haven’t been into stuff they released?
My favourite is This is What Happens. Play With Fire had a handful of tracks I wasn't into and was pretty disappointing too but I still loved like three quarters of that album. I'm hoping I end up liking this at least as much as that.
Gotcha. I definitely enjoy the new album personally, I think it’s on par with Play With Fire and imo they don’t have a bad release.
Rhythm, Chord & Melody is my favorite album by them still, but I really like the newer stuff as well. I know some people think they went too far towards jazz while losing some of the rock elements that made them stand out, but I really enjoy the heavy jazz side as well. That being said I don't know if they'll ever top songs like "The Moments in Between" and others off of RC&M.
Apparently they're called Kindo now and the new album is called Happy However After. Song Premiere: Kindo (f.k.a. Reign of Kindo) “Return To Me”
I forgot this band existed. I remember playing the EP over and over and over again. Haven't heard anything since.
I kind of understand it. Reminds me of when Fear Before the March of Flames became Fear Before. Trying to remove some of the quirkiness of their name/more accessible branding
They are but they're putting out an album of the songs on Friday. I think it's ok, easily their weakest album for me.
I dig it quite a lot actually. Not their best, but another solid album from this band. I'm still a Patreon supporter and have been enjoying the newer stuff as well.
I’m very much enjoying this, but agree it doesn’t match their previous greatness. But I mean, still really good.
