Yeah I’ve been to the Alligator Lounge many many times, even played trivia there. It’s a well known, low-key spot with some fun karaoke in the back.
Used to live a couple doors down the street. This episode hit home. It’s a pretty well known dive bar with cheap beer. The pizza is only good after drinking a couple. The only thing missing in the replica was the photo booth in the back
Funnier than Nathan implanting the trivia questions is Kor’s insistence that the trivia needs to go well in the first place. The way fake Kor flipped out at him in the end does honestly feel like something Kor would have done
Watched the episode and then immediately watched it again with my girlfriend. This is gonna be something special.
I loved the part where Nathan called Kor out on not knowing Nathan For You while claiming to be a tv trivia expert.
Him casually taking out and eating a ketchup packet while “going undercover” as the founder of thrifty boy fucking killed me. He’s insane. Fucking loved it.
This first episode is batshit in the best way. Lost it when Kor makes an excuse about his grandma having died of brain cancer to claim the table he wants.
Similar to NFY, if this is all that went into a single episode then I can’t imagine how much time+effort they spent on ideas and people that ended up going nowhere
And that dude's grandmother also had just passed away. What if it was HIS grandmother's favorite spot?
Exactly the thought I had while watching. At what point in the process did they decide it was worth committing to building two elaborate sets like that?
Also, I want Nathan to publish the flow charts at the end of the season. How many possibilities did they account for? It looked massive on his screen.
when the dude said "same" I thought he was being a sarcastic dick, but he was telling the truth which made Kor's lie that much worse lol
I couldn't tell based on the way it was edited together and I haven't rewatched it yet, but did Nathan confess to Kor that he cheated with the trivia, or only to the actor?
I’m sure he actually did tell Kor at some point, but depicting that would have obviously ruined the thematic arc of the show.
