Haven't listened to these guys in a while, but went back and listened to both albums today. Such a unique sound. It's too bad they broke up so early.
I miss them dearly. Sweetest people in the world. Here's a story of why this band is so important in my life. It's high school and I have a crush on this girl. She liked me at first but I was nervous to move with it so she moved on and we stayed good friends all through high school, I always liked her. She got me into TREOS by burning me BTHATS, and they were playing in Boston and she wanted to make them gift baskets. I thought it was a little lame, but I did it because she wanted to. We ended up meeting them before the show, and they brought us into the venue for sound check and gave us backstage passes and we watched a killer set from the side stage at The Middle East in Cambridge MA. It was a hometown show for them and they probably had a lot of people they knew coming, but they still indulged us and made time for us and gave me one of my favorite nights ever.
The production on both of their albums is still so dang good. The way everything is mixed, the transitions between tracks, somehow making three singers work...I'm still bummed we never got a third album.
Yeah, as someone who got into them years after their breakup... both albums are great, but Mi Fa Mi is next-level.
