last night I decided to listen an album by the band Geese. this turned into listening to two albums as well as the singles released from their upcoming album. all I can say is it might not be for everyone but the hype is very real. band rules

 

Just got home and in the 15 minute drive from where I was I had THREE different vehicles at different times all flash their lights at me while behind me. First time I thought maybe it was an accident or something but not after the second or third time. Thinking maybe my tail lights weren’t on or one was burned out or idk I pulled into a gas station and saw and heard nothing. Both tail lights working, no body parts or anything dangling from beneath my car. Idk wtf was up with that. Very bizarre.

 

Kult47 members being mad that people are cutting them off. Are you that fucking dumb. You supported a horrible person that said horrible things and then said people are taken the words out of context, when literally you are shown quotes. A lot of true colors have been have been shown. It’s saddening how far we regressed as a society.

 

Waterbeds

The concept alone is crazy but the logistics make me want to go on a very nerdy deep dive into this fad.

How did you fill this once it was delivered? With your sink faucet for 5 days lol. How many people had floors break/sink in from not being able to support thousands of pounds of water? How did you put a fitted sheet around it? How did it not smell or start to mold? Did you have to add water to it after awhile? How the fuck did you empty it? I can see a short lived business of emptying your waterbed and removing it for a fee. How many horror stories of leaks or breaks are out there?

I had at least one family member that had a water bed and none of the kids were slowed near it because they were terrified we’d fuck it up lol can’t say I blame them I’d think the same

 

My mom and step dad had a water bed. I don’t have anything other than that.

My rich friend growing up had a water bed. We'd crawl underneath it to have it smother us lol. I guess like a cold weighted blanket. But it was not practical at all for actually laying on. Even as kids the novelty didn't last long to try and lay on it for a prolonged period of time.

 

my best friend growing up had a water bed and I was always jealous. My ex had one too so I was pumped to finally sleep on one.




It sucked

 

if you like Geese, listen to Cameron Winter’s (their vocalist) solo album, Heavy Metal. It’s one of the best of the decade, imo.

Been really enjoying the trend of screening older movies at the theater for their anniversaries. Wife and I saw Toy Story in theaters today and it was such a fun time

 

I know I’ve posted about me working with a bunch of magas. I’m literally in tears how some of these people out right support CKs hateful words. I just saw a post shared from a co worker (who happens to be a poc immigrant married to a poc) basically praise CK and comparing him to a black man (sadly I’m unsure who the man is) with very inaccurate statistics (both the man and CK) saying “we’re not the same”. They literally believe anything they read or see online if it fits their agenda. Trump did call them dumb and they all laughed “smart people don’t like me”. I’m crying. Idk how such a sweet lady I work with feels this way deep down. These are her true colors. Also she indoctrinates her young daughter by pushing her views onto her. Listening to his hateful podcasts. Where is all this energy from the radical right when other people are killed, and killed by a maga? Right they don’t care unless it’s their own cult memebers. All these people calling him a “man of god” are going to the wrong church and reading the wrong bible. In no way does that man follow the words of Christ.

I have been on a "easy quick job certifications to add to resume" kick lately, and you wouldn't believe how insanely easy it is to become a certified personal trainer online with no experience. If I could pass for being in shape I would do it lol

Getting an FAA commercial drone pilot licence is also wayyy easier than you'd think it would be. You can get one without ever having flown a drone before.

 

Slept on waterbeds most of my childhood until I was a teenager. My parents also were not water bed people.

You'd run a long hose from outside into your bedroom. I think emptying it was similar just in reverse.

And yeah all those things could happen. Luckily I only had a leak a few times and my parents replaced it pretty quick.

 

I feel like Run by Prawn got a pretty lukewarm reaction when it was released but I love the album. Not quite as much Kingfisher but it’s still very good. The second half of Leopard’s Paw is one of my favorite moments in their discography. I listened to it on a hike this weekend and it fit perfectly.

 

Researching gram parsons because I got a CD of his. Bro was a trust fund kid with 30k a year in 1965 coming to him (like 300k/year in today’s money).

Oh for sure. It’s been a cult since about 2016. Maga is dumb af and fails to grasp that hateful words are hateful, no matter when or how many times they’ve been said. Just seeing posts from the maga I work with, the hypocrisy, etc fills me with rage. People who work in healthcare should not work in healthcare with those mindsets. Maga talks about how much hate in the world there is, but too stupid to see they’ve been behind it all
