When a kid turns 10 adults are like, “Happy birthday, buddy! Double digits!” but you can say that to anyone ages 10 through 99 and it’s become my favourite dumb joke to use when anyone I know has a birthday
I had this overtly sentimental post typed out but instead I'll just say y'all are pretty cool and I'm pretty lucky to have this place. there ya go
Spaghetti-o’s slap. I have a 4 year old and I always finish them. They make my stomach feel awful but damn, they go hard
Idk if they still make them, but when I was a kid, one if my favorite snacks was the Spaghetti-o’s with the hot dog slices in them. I couldn’t fathom eating them now, but they hit when I was like, 8
I can't fall asleep unless I am listening to a history documentary or a fantasy/sci-fi lore explanation video. Listening to people narrate stuff is like a natural sedative to me. It's like my ASMR. I made the mistake of falling asleep to true crime before and never again. Bad dreams.
I need my bedtime stories I'm not the only one "10 hours of boring history/lore to fall asleep to" is a whole ass genre on YouTube.
as a sahdy daddy, few things turn me off more from a song / album than lazy cursing. like c’mon dawgs, open a thesaurus i can’t have my kid listen to you drop f bombs for 60 minutes
still blown away by my new phone tbh but the charging cord is already coming apart. can't have it all, I guess. had to order a new one from Amazon.
Drank half a beer. First drink in 20 something days (don’t have a problem just want to be healthier) and wow my stomach feels awful
Haven’t really been active here the past week or so, but just wanted to say hi and hope everyone’s weekend is off to a nice start :)
Being able to partake in green with old friends who you have religious trauma like you and you haven’t seen in a long time rules TBH
Some friends and I were talking about the cliche “time speeds up as you get older” thing and one of them said something like, “maybe time feels slower as a kid because we’re always counting down and anxious for something - Christmas, a birthday party, summer vacation, etc. and it takes forever to get here because that’s our focus, but after/during college it’s just work work work (outside or maybe getting married and/or having a kid) so there’s nothing to ‘look forward to’ in the same sense, so time just melts together”. not gonna lie, made a lot of sense to me.
