I can think of a few reasons I think we should all probably be a little kinder to each other. I’ve seen such vitriol lately and it bums me out
I’m in the same boat as you. Usually I’m in bed by now, but I had a coffee at about 6:30 and I’m also still a bit amped because my wife and I went out and did karaoke with some of her friends tonight. I wanna go to sleep but I’m wired
I’m on summer vacation. It’s only been a little over a week so far, but I’m at the point where I forget what day it is.
a lot of children in my area have been disappearing lately and it’s heartbreaking. a local boy who was missing for a few days turned up today tho so that’s a blessing. just really sad stuff tho
Not the first person to think about this I’m sure but I find it quite strange how some sports teams are named after terrible things. Carolina Hurricanes Colorado Avalanche Those two are ones that always come to mind when I think of this kind of thing. Like, nothing good ever comes from a hurricane or an avalanche so why do we name sports teams with words associated with bad things lol. And like, imagine your experience a hurricane or an avalanche or have someone die or get injured in something like that and now every time you interact with that sports teams you have a constant reminder of it. Just find it weird.
most football teams have some unseemly names a good deal of sports teams have racist names really basketball teams are mostly immune to this I guess. I mean the Utah Jazz is fucking hilarious
While we’re on the topic of teams, I still think it’s ridiculous that the Angels are the Los Angeles Angels, despite the fact they haven’t been in LA for decades. Just suck it up that your in Anaheim ffs
Yeah I feel like them, along with the Dodgers are the two most popular and “classic” MLB teams. They get a pass because they’re iconic Although, as a lifelong Dodgers fan, I even can admit that their name is weird. It makes sense understanding the context of when they were based in Brooklyn, but still…
Steelers - great name Penguins - makes no sense Pirates - makes no sense Steelers fit perfectly for Pittsburgh. What do the other two have to do with the city?
Penguins originated in Pittsburgh and then spread out to other parts of the world. (Actually it was from a naming constant but the arena they originally played in was called the igloo). And pirates is just a cool name for a baseball team and they’ve always had dope logos.
