My dad does have very similar "working class liberal SocDem" politics as Moore though which makes it even funnier
But of a ramble post and a TW for self harm. Last weekend or close to it there was a high speed police chase, car crashed, driver and passenger ran off in different directions. Allegedly, the passenger took their own life before the cops could get to them (was reported that a cop searching a field nearby heard a gunshot and later found the person) which seems… odd? The driver turned himself on to police 4-5 days later so like… what in the world did the passenger have on his record or what did he think was gonna happen to him if/when he’d be caught? obviously there are hundreds or thousands of high speed chases and drug busts every year but for someone to do that at that time? I’m suspicious if it is what it was reported as (especially with no cops around, not like he was trapped in an abandoned house for days on end or something) or if there was something he was wanted for that was seeeeeeeriously messed up. There’s also a 3 year old from about 30 minutes away that’s been missing for 3 weeks that locals now wonder if the guy is tied to that somehow but everything reported (not much) says that this chase was with known drug dealers so I don’t think it’s the missing kid. but, even if it was drugs, the driver (who was known to police and they announced his mug shot right away because he has a record) turned himself in so it’s so bad for one guy that he calls it quits but the driver just turns himself in? Just seems like a very, very suspicious way for the story to end but who knows what was going on with the guy beforehand but man, just so bizarre.
I’ve mentioned it before but rewards systems have turned into benefiting the customer less. Why do my points expire when they never use to. The store just wants you to spend more money to either get to the next “level” quicker to avoid the expiration or spend more money getting points to use the points. No more saving up.
Wayfair still hasn’t shipped my item and it was suppose to be delivered yesterday there was been so many issues with my “new” unit. Maintenance said the shower head is likely rusted bc it’s not flowing how it should. They didn’t have another one so they told me to put in a work order
I ordered a desk from Ashley furniture and am having to do a charge back for the first time ever. They sent me the wrong item which is clear just from the box before I even opened it. Sent pictures to their customer service and they replied that I need to send specifically 7 photos, which ??? Eventually they settled on a 360 view. Now they haven't responded at all. I emailed them back to be like "hey so what's up?" And nothing. Thankful I paid with my Amex cause I've only had great customer experiences with them.
Jacksonville is so weird in that the city has a population of about a million people, it's the most populace city in Florida, and the 11th most populace city in the US. But the only reason is because it's so geographiclly huge. Jacksonville city takes up over 90% of it's metro area. It doesn't seem fair. In comparison Jacksonville has the only the 4th largest Metro Area population in Florida behind Miami, Tampa Bay, and Orlando.
I can always tell when someone expects me to be a different race or ethnicity based off my name before meeting me, and then the palest girl on the planet (me) walks in. It's like this slight hesitation and confusion. I need to come up with some sort of witty something to acknowledge it but instead im always just like yep, it's me
