Do what I would always do for work potlucks, just buy like 3 giant bags of candy from Walgreens. All kids love candy. Can't go wrong.
At the time we had a lot of potlucks we still had some 18/19 year olds on my team so yes? Kinda. Also everyone loves and appreciates candy.
I was always a "randomly brings snacks" guy. Like when I was a teenager and my friends and I would go to the beach or park I would always fill a ziplock bag of candy/chips/pretzels to give to anyone who might be hungry like I was parent of a toddler or something. I not too long ago asked one of my old high school friends if that was weird and they were like " don't ever apologize for bringing snacks for your friends "
My favorites are the cop vs cop bodycams. My favs: FBI agent approaches a podunk Sheriffs Deputy in Florida to try to flip him, dumbass deputy then detains FBI agent part 1: New Mexico County Sheriff shows up to the scene of a standoff between his businessman friend and the city cops drunk as hell, he calls his friend to try to make a deal. The city cops then get a warrant for the Sheriff's phone, they get into a heated argument and the sheriff gives the cops the wrong phone on purpose Part 2: after being the given wrong phone the city cops obtain a warrant to search Sheriff's office HQ. They then arrest the sheriff of Obstruction when he doesn't comply. The Undersheriff orders his deputies to block off the cops, and they almost pull their guns on eachother
This kids foster parents are diligent about screen time and limited sugar so I'm trying to be respectful. I got him a kit to make one of those stick figure glow stick outfits and a book lol we'll see how that goes
Also the worst part about not having a British accent is that I don't get to say innit. I mean I can but it doesn't flow!
I’m a cis male, but I relate to a lot of media aimed towards females or they help me out during hard times. The new Hannah Diamond EP, especially the track Affirmations, is helping with my self-esteem and reminding me to tell myself I’m alright.
it honestly felt like the Your Controversial Opinions thread was becoming the Tired Old Men Discuss What Medications They’re On Thread for a couple days there
The B-52's don't get enough credit. Not only for how important they were to the American Post-Punk scene, but also nobody ever talks about how The B-52's were probably the first mainstream rock band where every member of their original lineup was queer, and they were unapologetically queer and campy. That seems like a kind of important milestone in American popular music. They are still seen as kind of a novelty act by many people, but they deserve to be in the same conversation as Talking Heads, Devo, Blondie, ect. Family Guy kind of turned this song into a joke, but this shit actually rules
My old landlord said he was briefly a guitarist for them. I have a feeling he told every single person he ever met. Never confirmed the story tho
My dad said he saw them as an opening act on The Who's 1980 farewell tour and that they got booed off stage.
