was watching a video today where a person made the statement: life was a lot better when Sean Paul was on the radio and it’s hard to disagree with that even if it’s an absurd notion on its face
I’ve been really bad at my night time skin care lately. but I did put away most of my laundry from tonight’s wash
I want an occasion to dress up and wear like a gown. When I was a kid I thought it was normal for adults to just be invited to a gala or ball or something. I've never worn a fancy dress. How do I get invited to a ball?
After Die Hard came out in '88 I am surprised that no parents named their kids Argyll. Like why don't we have a bunch of 35 year old guys named Argyll walking around?
I bought new body wash because I think the one I’ve been using is making my skin break. I’m trying this cetaphil one. I want to rule out my lotion bc I’ve used it before and it was amazing but sometimes companies change formulas. I also bought some hand lotion because my hands get dry and my skin breaks. i lathered myself in aquaphor to see if it helps speed up my dry skin
How do people buy houses? Like not just afford one but actually how do you buy one? How do you know what you can afford? How do you get a loan? Do you do an open house and tell the realtor "hello I'd like this one please." If I'm buying an entire house I feel like it should come with a fridge too. It just feels right. like legitimately I have no concept of how a home is purchased. I am over 30 and I'm like Monica in friends when she's trying to invest and asks the operator for the stock buying store or whatever lol
I am going to keep up with the night time aquaphor to see how it helps my skin. Downside I lowkey feel greasy in the morning
My wife convinced me to start wearing compression socks. They weren’t comfortable at first, but I don’t have calluses on my feet at the end of my work day. A true life saver.
Find a real estate agent through a friend or family member. They should be able to walk you through everything without pressuring you to do anything. They’ll help with calculating costs and learning all the steps involved, and they’ll keep on top of it for you as you navigate the process. That was my experience at least and I knew next to nothing about buying a home beforehand. Edit: you can also call up a local mortgage company and they’ll help you more directly with your financial picture and what you can reasonably afford, along with pointing out state and federal programs you might be able to take advantage of.
I mean I guess now that I think about I've bought cars and while it's not quite at house level, I had no idea what I was doing and probably got a bit ripped off but hey I have a car. Tbh I don't even remember how I did that. As long as they tell me where to sign the paper and I have someone to hold me when the sticker shock sets in
My realtor/agent person continues to send me links to houses that are $20K+ above my threshold limit for what I’d be comfortable with and she keeps saying my number is too low. Maybe my number will change in 6 months once I have more saved but I’m not gonna change my mind, although I get that most people do or need to but luckily I’m not in that dire of a situation
This isn’t a new or unique thing and I’m not quite sure why it probably happens all of the time but a new restaurant is being built in my city, 3 of them actually. An Olive Garden, Popeye’s and something else. meanwhile the Applebee’s just closed for good because they have no staff, 1 of the 2 Burger Kings is permanently closed and the other one is open like 12-5 lol and right across from one of these new buildings is a similar restaurant that has a sign in every window and flags every 5 feet on the grass in front begging for help. So like… who the fuck is gonna work at the Olive Garden? And when they open they will be fully staffed because people will see it is something new and think it wont be shit and after a week they’ll see it’s the same as any other public facing job and bail and Olive Garden corporate will pull a Pikachu face. My mom used to work corporate for McD’s back in the day and I asked her if corporate for these places knew or cared if they were opening a store in a place where similar businesses are hurting for help and she said at her level and way above they don’t give a shit or look ahead. Someone convinced them with an Excel file and a short PowerPoint about market growth blah blah blah and they give the go ahead and they don’t think a year or two down the road, for most chains it’s a drop in a bucket if they have to close a location or take a loss. Seems very pointless and a waste!
a backscratcher is such a cheap investment that pays for itself many times over I’m Jim Cramer and welcome to Mad Money
In Escape (The Pina Colada Song) by Rupert Holmes, he has a line about wanting a woman "who is not into Yoga" in his newspaper classified ad. I always think that is the funniest thing to specifically want in a partner. I might put "must not into Yoga" in my Tinder bio lol
