Went to a classic movie viewing at the local public library. I was the youngest one. Like 30 years younger that everyone else. I’m trying to do more things to get out of the house and work on my anxiety

I’ve been doing the same and I’ve been experiencing the exact same thing lol I joined a book club at my local library and the librarian is the only person my age. Next closest is 55. I’m hoping some people closer to my age join bc I’m really trying to make friends! Nothing wrong with having older friends but besides reading, I don’t really seem to have much in common with the women who have been going.

Thanks. I usually try to go on hiking meetups, but want something to do more locally when I can’t make a meetup. With the local library, I feel like I’m not forced to talk to anyone. It’s like just show up for the event

It just occurred to me today that through all their lineup changes, The Melvins had a lineup with two guitarists, a lineup with two bassists and a lineup with two drummers, but never all at the same time

I had to pick up my meds from the pharmacy and I saw someone that looked like my ex getting into their car as I was pulling in (hair, build, clothing) Although the car wasn’t the car I know they had and it was prob his gmas, but I couldn’t remember what color car his gma had. If it was my spirit guides must have been looking out for me.

It's really sad you hear more "person died attempting to heroically save someone in the water" stories than "someone saved someone in the water heroically and they lived" stories.

I’m watching the Dodgers vs. Rockies game rn. It’s at Coors Field in Denver where the Rockies play, but i can’t help but notice how many Dodgers fans are in the crowd. Are these Dodgers fans that traveled out of state for the game? Are these local Dodgers fans in Colorado? I can’t help but be intrigued by this

A little of both. Colorado has a lot of transplants, especially from CA, and the big market teams always have a huge presence at the games. You'll see the same thing with Cubs or Yankees games too. While the Rockies have a dedicated fan base, it is nothing compared to those type of teams

Good insight! That makes a lot of sense. I was telling my wife recently that if we were to move, the Dodgers would still be our team no matter what lol

Florida is largely the same way. While the Bucs have a dedicated fanbase there are probably collectively more Pats/Packers/Steelers/Giants fans in Tampa Bay than Bucs fans, again because transplants.

Baseball is the same, especially since we get Spring Training that brings in fans of a bunch of teams that aren't the Rays.

For basketball most people in Tampa are Heat fans, nobody roots for the Magic even though they're closer.

Hockey is a little different. The Lightning I would say have the largest most dedicated fanbase of any Tampa team and no other transplant fan hockey team compares.

Orange County is interesting because despite having their own baseball team (Angels), a large chunk of baseball fans that live there are Dodgers fans. I went to a Dodgers/Angels game at Angels Stadium last year and it certainly felt like Dodgers fans outnumbered Angels fans lol.

A coworker I had at an old job once told me that people who attend Angels games are actually just undercover Dodgers fans that just want to attend a cheaper baseball game. I’m not sure if that is accurate, but it’s still funny.

I’ve always been really intrigued by NFL fandom. I feel like most sports are pretty territorial in terms of fanbases (basically, where you live or where you live close to is the team you support), but with football, you can basically live anywhere and support for whoever.

I grew up on the Central Coast of California (in between SF and LA) and weirdly, the Cowboys and Steelers both had big followings in my hometown. I also recall having a neighbor that’s a die-hard Broncos fan.

Another example: My MIL was born/raised in the South Bay region of LA, but is a huge 49ers fan. I’m not entirely sure how that came to be…

Why do all crossing guards wave at public busses every time one drives by? Anyone ever notice that?
