I had noticed we both had Creeper avatars, by far one of the best live bands in the uk atm. I'm seeing them at 2000 Trees next month and then with Letlive an Pierce The Veil (urgh) in November. Might catch them at Butser Fest too if I can be bothered with it. If I do Buster Fest that will make it 5 times seeing Creeper this year.
Yep I really wanna see Creeper again, especially in a venue that big(it's 5000 capasity) but PTV is awful and I imagine the atmosphere at their shows to be awful too.
I'll be disappointed if that Direct Hit! album isn't my favorite of the year. Their last one was so good. Okay, maybe "disappointed" is a poor word to use, but I've got super high expectations for it.
I've never listened to Direct Hit!... Maybe I should change that. My most anticipated punk album that's definitely out this year is Iron Chic. I can't wait for that.
I recommend giving Brainless God a few listens. It's a great, great album. With you on Iron Chic. One of my very favorites. They're a fucking blast.
Here's two of my favourite punk EPs that came out last year. I saw both of these bands play in the back lot of a brewery towards the end of the year which was a pretty cool. Anyways I thought you guys might like them. First up is Weatherstate who are from the uk, they're pretty much straight up punk rock. Next is Edward In Venice who hail from Italy and are a skate punk band, RIYL: Belverdere and A Wilhem Scream.
As for my most anticipated this year, obvs the decendents are at the top of the list. Looking forward to Iron Chic too, Not Like This is one of my fav punk albums and still lives in my car to this day. I'm hoping for a new Gnarwolves album this year too.
Thanks for those recs man! I plan on giving them a listen when I get home from the bars tonight. My favorite discovery from last year is Deforesters. They're similar to The Flatliners and A Wilhelm Scream. Really hoping for a full-length from them soon.
I heard about this when it was announced, but didn't realise it came out 3 days ago! It's fantastic! Same as Vol. 1, it's Asian Man Records bands covering other Asian Man Records bands.
I love Strung Out! Curious what UL will play. Their new sound is so vastly different from the original SoCal punk sound so it'd be rad if they played nothing but older songs from Oz, s/t and Elva. HTTM is fine too, but...ya know.
