It's been out for less than 12 hours and I've already listened to this three times. It absolutely rips. Cool guitar parts, big hooks, and pretty slick melodies. And it's faaaast! FFO: A Wilhelm Scream, the Swellers, the Flatliners, Chaser, No Trigger, Propagandhi, etc.
Glad people are enjoying it! They've been a band for a bit but have mostly flown under the radar until recently outside of New England, I think. With this album being on more prominent record labels, and it being a huge step up songwriting-wise, I feel like they might get a bit more traction. Stoked I could turn a few people onto 'em!

Didn't have this on my bingo card for today but... New Bad Time Records signing! And it's not a ska band. Apparently they'll have a new single streaming today on this web site (LOL) but the two tracks already out there from 2023 are really awesomed. FFO: Red City Radio, RVIVR, early Hot Water Music, and some other bands I can't think of right now (Seriously, it reminds me of some very specific moments in songs by other bands but I can't place it. Help?)
Cosmic Joke released a benefit covers EP for the LA wildfires. All proceeds donated directly to families. Track list is sick. It's covers of classic LA punk/hardcore bands: Bad Religion, X, Adolescents, and Agent Orange plus one of the band's originals from their S/T 2024 album that absolutely rips if you're into the Adolescents, T.S.O.L., the Offspring, and such. 1. We’re Only Gonna Die (feat. Colin Young) 2. Los Angeles (feat. Marisa Shirar @mirsy.fm) 3. L.A. Girl (feat. Sara G) 4. Bloodstains (feat. Sammy Ciaramitaro) 5. Cosmic Joke
I tried to get into a punk-only mood a while back, saw disgusting clips of all the saliva goo goo muck shit from The Clash and whatnot... that didn't work out
Easily one of my favorite releases of 2024. It's nice seeing their style of punk getting lumped in with the current run of hardcore bands too... Really hoping they get a bit more hype with whatever they release next.
new album from Roach Squad (feat. Frankie Stubbs and Graeme Philliskirk of Leatherface and Hugo Mudie of The Sainte Catherines) is so good:
