Since I’m moving to Wilmington, NC in a few weeks I’ve been trying to familiarize myself with local punk scene and I’m surprised to find quite a few bands and even venue there! Pretty excited to dive into the scene once in there. Hopefully join a band or something even if we suck haha.
I have not! I have only visited a handful of times and we went downtown. These friends are not into punk or any independent music for that matter. I believe @Leftandleaving used to live there and he can shed some light. You should try and make some shows in the Triangle area because we get all the tours.
i havent been to reggies but @AlwaysEvolving21 im going tonight so ill let you know haha. i do know its the best known indie music venue in this area, and at this point pretty much the only one :(
Punk but has members of Drill Sergeant, Ridgeway and Fluoride. Album comes out July 22nd on Smartpunk. @swboyd
First time listening to this album in full. Yeah, a very weird album for sure. Most songs are one to two minutes too long.
I’ve never really got into the whole Sex Pistols thing myself. Was always into The Clash and Ramones more lol
It was more of a manufactured product sort of similar to boy bands. They were created as a fashion statement and it really worked because when you think of true punk you immediately think of spiky hair, leather jacket, tight jeans and big black boots. Even to this day. The band that really continued to carry this torch is Rancid. But yes, this album is not good as a whole and Sex Pistols as a brand should have only had singles. This is their only album, thank god!
I've been listening to The Clash, Dead To Me, and ToyGuitar ALOT the past couple days. Dead To Me needs some new tuneage.
Debut album from Somewhere South of Here I think it's pretty neat. I don't know if it should be the emo thread or here but I'm putting it here.
