Looks like the Copyrights have a new album, titled Alone In A Dome, dropping on October 22nd. Pre-orders are up on the Fat Wreck EU Kings Road site now... Little surprised because, by all accounts I've heard, Fat Mike was never a big fan of the band. But really excited that we get a new Copyrights LP!
Weird to see them sign to Equal Vision but I'm down. Also cool to see them keeping Cresswell in the mix!
Hey, if y'all are looking for some new punk bands to listen to, I made a playlist of (mostly underground) Chicago punk bands to try to hype up some of the great music happening in the city. I've been updating it monthly, so it wouldn't hurt to give it a follow :)
Thanks to whoever recommended this band to me, finally checked it out and it's some really fun skatepunk.
Checking out that Heathcliff album right now, it's exactly what I have been itching for the last few days
This is very much 90’s Epitaph. It has the perfect amount of restraint to prevent it from going too aggressive and heading into hardcore territory. Also, I swear the solo in BFF is a straight up tribute to Power Rangers. “Go, Go, Power Rangers!”
I recently digged up a snowboarding (or skateboarding, not sure) tape soundtrack I have on CD. It's from 2001. It's also kind of an Epitaph sampler. It led me to this album: This is a good album.
Osker were very good. I think Epitaph’s issue back then was that they signed all these bands that were fighting to get to the top. On top of that, they were competing with a fledgling Fat Wreck Chords who were gaining a ton of momentum.
Oh man, that album is such a forgotten gem! Not sure how I stumbled onto it a few years ago, but it blows me away every time I listen to it.
