Any Unseen fans still around? Wish that they were still around.

I'm here. Same user, different username. Curious to see where this thread goes... I feel like "Punk Goes Punk" basically became more along the lines of "whatever bands played Fest and/or were on Fat Wreck/Red Scare." :eh:

I wouldn't call myself a "fan," in that I never got too into any of their albums. The harder-edged street punk stuff just isn't my thing... But they were a stellar live act. Always loved seeing them as the "token local opener" on shows here in Boston over the years.

Didn't AP both have a "Punk/Hardcore thread" for your more hardcore stuff, and then the punk goes punk for your punk rock/festcore stuff?

    I personally liked that distinction.

Welcome! It's a pretty vague/loose definition these days. But I did like what we'd had there the past several years. Good group of regular posters, solid recs... just needs more activity!

I was SanePsychotic on AP. I was sort of one of the punx?

So, favourite punk release so far this year? My money goes to Face to Face - Protection. Total return to form after the train wreck that was Three Chords And A Half Truth.

I haven't listened to this album yet (I've been out of the loop musically for a bit), but I wanted to say I love your avatar. Jawbreaker is one of my favorite bands of all time.

Also, I'm actually listening to Protection right now and it's sounding great. Thanks for the recommendation!

Been meaning to check that out actually. A friend of mine said it has a real Leatherface vibe, which I can totally get behind because Leatherface rules.

Does Folk-Punx count? Because the only punk release so far I've really liked was the Pat the Bunny/Ceschi split .
Folk punk is the only punk I'm knowledgable in :(

Been listening to the both of these a lot lately. I think the Dirty Nil's latest is incredible. They might be my sleeper pick for AOTY at the moment, but considering all the other stuff that's supposed to come out later this year, that's a very early call to make.

I'm liking this new PEARS album.

2016 is going to be a fucking gravy train for punk. So many good releases coming out. Worship This!, Morning Glory EP and PEARS tomorrow, for starters.

I'm particularly excited to read NOFX's book coming out in a few weeks.
