Seeing The Postal Service live on their last tour with Jenny Lewis in the band was pretty magical, I remember their show being pretty amazing, and having Jenny be more involved than on the record worked really well
Really wish I could have attended that tour. Their final show ever was in Chicago and I was not there :(
the postal service tour was amazing. Ben's dancing was a littttttttttttttttttle cringe, but it was a blast.
That ruled. Once in a lifetime show. Covid really is like the best opportunity for these folks to write more songs, haha. Like the original album was made with Ben and Jimmy living in different cities
Just replayed Give Up... just as fantastic as I remembered it! Really hope this is news of a new record and not just a livestream / show.
Wow... yeah, not at all what I was hoping for. Not only am I massively disappointed, but it wasn't even really all that entertaining. By mid-way it just had that feeling of a bad SNL sketch that overstays its welcome.
Yeah, no reason to tease this. At the very least, they should have been transparent that it was a voting thing. It's barely even Postal Service related, considering it's 20% cutaways to Ben or Jenny looking bored and Jimmy looking asleep.
Listening to Give Up for the first time in about 12/13 years. My god, it still holds up so well. Hasn't aged a bit.
Also had no idea there was a 10 year anniversary deluxe edition with a load of b-sides I knew nothing about. Nice.
two of those b-sides (Turn Around and A Tattered Line of String) were actually all new songs made in 2013, not just b-sides!
