We need a thread for this stuff and the genres orbiting it, for the classics like Gang of Four, Joy Division, The Chameleons, The Cure and many more and modern bands like Shame, IDLES, B Boys, Preoccupations, Ought, LIFE, Metz and what not. I'll start us off with:
Big Ups return with “PPP” announced yesterday, leans more towards the punk side but i think it "fits"
no but I've heard they're incredible! Relatives In Descent is one of my favorites from last year so I'm biased but you should definitely go
Preoccupations is wandering about. Closing track is great as is Espionage, rest is just decent on first listen.
The Pop Group are my kind of post punk. Them mixing in some free jazz definitely helps. Also finally got round to listening to Gang of Four thanks to RTJ sampling them.
Oh man. Rip Rig + Panic are fucking amazing. Hate that it took me so long to listen to them. Any jazz/funk/African influenced percussion and rhythms influenced stuff like them is now going straight to the top of my "to listen to" list haha
