Kept wanting to post about the parallel there but didn’t know when the right time would be since it’s hard to talk about that show without spoiling it a little. Jamie subverted the assumptions we have about children by committing an act that no one thought him capable of, and David subverted the assumption that he had already done something horrible but needed help anyway. Two different stories with the same message - it was cool to kinda get them in tandem

 

Back to watching ER and now I am wondering if in the original script when this was supposed to be an ER revival if Dr. Benton was going to die of Covid in flashbacks and it was going to haunt Carter.

Also seeing some people who are watching ER for the first time after watching The Pitt trying to compare Carter and Robby, and it's like in ER (in the first few seasons as least) Noah Wyle was basically playing that show's version of Whitaker and Javati. Anthony Edwards and George Clooney were the Robby/Abbott of ER.

I have to imagine there were some plot elements they must have kept in some fashion. Like the Langdon stuff is such a mirror of what happened with Wyle's Dr. Carter in ER season 6 I am betting that is a story element that was kept and changed a little.

 

Good season. Just a sturdy, well made show. Definitely a couple after school special storylines/writing, but I really enjoyed it. Might have to start ER now

 

Next season needs to slowly introduce the rest of The Faculty cast

 

This series has been on my to-watch list for a while, but a compilation of Dr. King scenes popped up on my YouTube suggestions last night and hooked me so I’ve decided to marathon it this weekend. About to press play on episode one now!

I started watching the German show Berlin ER on Apple TV+ to fill my The Pitt void of R rated contemporary issue driven elevated medical drama. Completely different stylistically (this one has kind of a medical Euphoria vibe to it), but has a lot of similar themes.

 

8 episodes down. The whole main cast is terrific, but I’m partial to the newbies Javadi/ King/ Santos/ Whitaker. I also really enjoy how emotional this show is without falling into melodrama like so many medical dramas do. I wish Pittsburgh was real

I do love that the fandom of this show brought back the lost art of clip comps. Big part of why word of mouth spread so much. Especially on tiktok.

 

Finished the season. Excellent show, I almost want to immediately rewatch just to keep spending time with these characters but I think I need a show with a bit more levity after all that
