Great finale. Real last day of school vibes for some reason haha. Loved all of the post shift stuff. Whitaker’s surprised scream was amazing. The second I saw Robby going up the stairs I knew we were going for a mirror or episode 1, which wound up being a great scene. “You’re in my spot” lol Santos continues to be a confident but prickly person that everyone got way too weird about because she was kind of annoying for part of the show. She has stuff to work on just like most of the staff
I know he was grieving but Jake’s “fuck you” to Robby was way outta pocket. Don’t care if we get to see it or if it gets lost in the months between now and Fourth of July, lil man better apologize
Seeing a lot of people who are gravitating to this show as liberal cartharthis for this current political climate much in the same way 2000's libs found comfort in the The West Wing (another John Wells joint) during the Bush years.
Well it did an awesome job pointing out the idiocy surrounding anti-mask and anti-vax people. The mom of the measles kid needed a good slap upside the head.
Not sure if this was mentioned by anyone else but I felt a lot of parallels with The Bear. The writing, line deliveries, character interactions and the constant pressure.
Apparently the rooftop scenes with Abbott and Robbie in the season premiere and the season finale were both filmed on the same day, and without them having the script for the whole season. ‘The Pitt’s Noah Wyle and Shawn Hatosy Shot That Gripping Night Time Roof Scene Without Knowing What Was Happening: “All I Read is the First Episode” | Decider
I figured they shot all the actual Pittsburgh scenes in a few days/weeks but didn’t realize they didn’t have a script
I'm sure if it became too off the mark they could've gone back and picked it up. cool that it ended up being seamless tho
They mentioned that some characters in season 2 will be working different shifts. Some season 1 regulars might be on the night shift. Wouldn't it be ballsy if they made Langdon the primary lead in season 2 and Robby doesn't even show up regularly until the later episodes similar to Dr. Abbott? From what they've released it seems like the second season will be heavily Langdon centric.
I am seeing some criticism from women, many whom otherwise like this show that it portrays female next of kin as too hysterical compared to their male counterparts who are more level headed and can be reasoned with. Dementia daughter, weed gummy mom, measles mom.
i think that is somewhat true, especially with measles mom, but i would say the fentanyl overdose mom and the dementia sister are also depicted as more involved in the decision making whereas the husband and brother are more calm, sure, but also kinda just doofuses that don’t say much
Listening to The Watch finale review and they really hitting home just what an incredible television writing feat it is to seamlessly introduce multiple new characters 12 episodes in and have them so quickly integrate into the cast . By episode 15 you almost forget Abbott (besides the first scene), Ellis, Chen, and Walsh were not there for the first third of the season.
