Yeah this show is locked with award season. At least Noah is that was a stellar performance.

What a chaotic episode, these injuries are brutal. Gratz to the makeup and props department Jesus.

I mean they definitely deserve it cuz I'm sure they had to do tons of actual research into what these injuries look like and that couldn't have been fun lol. Most of this stuff is so brutal and so realistic, yeah they def deserve it.

This is like 6 months worth of intense ER stuff into one day which I feel is totally fine for TV, especially with how grounded everything else is. If we get to the point of extreme realism it’s just Robby charting all day.

Last 2 episodes were my least favorite but I’m still enjoying the show.

This one is up there with episode 8 as my favourite of the season. Last week's would probably round out my top 3, these last two have just been so intense.

insane take to me, can you elaborate why?

The effects are impressive but just watching them care for victim after victim gets old to me. I like the characters and we aren’t getting much character development in these last few episodes outside of Dr Robby.

I mean, this past episode was pretty bleak.

grimace can explain his reasons, but I know some people view tv to escape from what they have going on.

I feel like there's some great character work in how each of them is caring for their patients and dealing with the situation but I can definitely see why people would prefer the pace/vibe of earlier episodes.

Yeah I disagree pretty heavily with that take. Watching the kids have to figure shit out with each other on their own has been really rewarding and built up to incredibly well, and integrating the second shift folk into the narrative probably shouldn’t work as well as it does here. And there are a lot of effective emotional beats between characters that are handled with a look vs a conversation that keeps everything moving but still tells the story.

That said my guy Whitaker has to start noticing when his patients have transitioned into actively dying mode while he thought they were chillin lol

Langdon has had some good moments and it’s clear that regardless of what happens to him, he’s seen his errors in how he handled Santos and is striving to be a better teacher and doctor.

Also shoutout Shawn Hatosy who doesn’t have a very memorable filmography but who I’m always happy to see, he’s great here. Objectively hilarious he was standing on the edge of the roof contemplating the end of it all after a relatively banal shift compared to the one following it up.

I didn’t say I disliked the last 2 episodes just that they’re my least favorite. Shawn Hatosy has been great and I’m glad he’s back. There is some character development but just the constant barrage of new gun shot victims is a lot.
