Damn. That was intense.

If you see this before watching the preview for next week, I’d say skip it. It does reveal something that might be better to not know. It’s not like some huge surprise, but it confirms something we don’t know yet.

 

That episode fucking flew by goddamn. Intense start to finish.

Loved the controlled chaos vibe. Super intense but everyone kept it together (for now) and was super professional.

 

Mel is the best doctor

 

Yeah, another great episode. Really love this show.

 

Wayyyy too fast. It just flew by! Thank god there's 4 more episodes.

 

The doctors donating blood WHILE operating is craaaazy lol. Great episode

 

I like that Robby and Gloria were super on the same page for their scene together.

 

Mel looking so elated when Langdon came back warmed my heart

 

This show stresses me out so much but I love it. What a chaotic episode.

 

I have heard of the concept of "Competency Porn" as a movie/tv trope before (mostly heard it used to describe The West Wing's appeal) and I feel like this show is the competency porn we need right now.

Something very cathartic about just watching regular smart people be very good at their jobs.

 

How much would it fucking suck for Robbie to have something happen to his step kid when he could have avoided this whole shooting situation if he'd reported the kid in the beginning. God I hope there not the case cuz then he's gonna have that huge ass guilt of *what if*

 

Oh man the exit wound where that cop was shot through the face looked gnarly

Also bloody handprints all over the ambulance from all the people who couldn't get in was a horrifying way of illustrating the scale of what happened.

 

Yeah whoever decided to make this episode only 40 minutes needs to be fired. My wife and I were on the edge of our seats the whole time waiting for the next scene and then it's just done! In all seriousness, fantastic episode and great to have Shawn Hatosy back.

 

There are a lot of open questions on this one - but way too short.

Where's Myrna? The doc outside with Robbie, drinking coffee, seemed too naive to do the job outside, but then he did a good job...

 

I am so trained by traditional TV tropes to think David is a red herring and someone else will be the shooter in a twist but I don't think this isn't that kind of show.

What if it's disgruntled waiting room guy? lol

 

After you brought up ER and helicopters as soon as Robbie sent up Javadi to get whatever was being dropped off my spidey senses started tingling......

 

... I forgot about him.

 

David is the obvious primary suspect, for sure. But since his target list was all girls, presumably from his school, I feel like Pitt fest doesn’t make as much sense as a target for him. Driscoll would be interesting if it’s him. I think him targeting the hospital would make more sense than David doing so. But I don’t know if Driscoll shooting up Pitt fest would make sense.

 

Watch ER 4x15 Exodus for another really great "Emergency Room implements an institutional contingency plan" episode. Although that one is about a toxic hazmat chemical spill and not a mass shooting. This episode reminded me of it a lot

 

I'm from Boston and that made me remember during the Marathon bombings runners crossing the finish and continuing to run straight to the hospital to donate blood.

There are good ones out there.

 

That was great. Gave me hope that behind administrators the core of medicine is still there. I've worked at some of Boston's biggest hospitals and have seem a lot of admin work, good and bad, so I'm glad they retouched that dynamic.

 

I thought the same exact thing lol

 

I loved him (Shen). Unfazed but apparently very competent. Imagine how he leads the night shift.
