Just gotta hella flashbacks to the end of sorry baby with that robby/baby scene, some beautiful stuff man
I didn’t really notice it while watching, but yeah the pregnancy was the only major thing I think. It makes sense with most of the day shift clocking out or charting.
The ending with Robby kinda reminded me of the ending of Task a little a bit. Both ended with the protagonist having their souls basically saved by fostering an orphan.
I got so much out of that moment. I was also thinking of Jesse and what it means to celebrate America as a Muslim woman on a day when ICE rips through your workplace.
A much quieter finale than I was expecting, especially with Mohan. I guess she had that breakdown in last season’s finale so they wanted to find another note, but that ending gave me hope for the character even if she won’t be around in season three.
If anything I think the character that didn't have a very strong arc or ending this season was McKay.
I'm strongly considering saving season 3 to binge, I usually don't have issues with, or prefer, the weekly approach but after binging S1 then having to wait for this season, I do think I took it in differently
On the other hand, she was the most emotionally stable of the main characters this season. Enough of the staff were going through it, and it was nice having her as an anchor this time around
re: mohan. felt like she was beat down all season and kinda just left burnt out with no direction and no wins. just a bummer ending for me.
That's life brother. Also I wouldn't say she has no direction. She knew what direction was right for her the entire time, and it ended with her finally starting to accept that. It just didn't show her being happy about accepting it, which I find realistic. I think everyone wanted her arc to end like Javadi's did, which i think wouldn't be the right move.
maybe. would have at least liked to see a little remorse shown from robby for the way he treated her all season.
normalize not getting closure for finales!!! just because Mohan is leaving the show as a regular doesn't mean her story is necessarily over. they also don't need to explicitly tell us what happens next for Robbie or Al-Hashimi this is an ongoing series, people!
Based on some interview clips I’ve seen of Wyle talking about it, I think he and the writers severely messed up with the Mohan/Robby relationship. He genuinely doesn’t seem to have clocked how shitty Robby comes off to her, and instead thinks it seems more like a simple “tough love” approach. Their final scene makes that clear too. Simply poorly executed for what they were apparently going for That being said, I do like that her character didn’t go out with some big dramatic moment. Just another example of people expecting the show to suddenly turn into Grey’s Anatomy
Yeah If you have engaged with John Wells previous works before you know the ending of that character as a series regular doesn't necessarily mean an ending to that character on the show. Wells likes to have old characters pop in and out in interesting ways.
I think the way it played out worked as a realistic portrayal. I’m sure plenty of us have had at least one boss who convinced themselves being a hardass was necessary motivation and never apologised for being insensitive
Robby is called out several times in the finale by Mohan, Abbott, Langdon, Al Hashimi, his friend Duke—and beforehand by Dana and others. I promise they aren’t trying to portray him in any positive light whatsoever this season.
this season as a whole was great, but not the level of season 1 (but with expectations, come on) however, i think i preferred this season finale to last year's. very poignant and now i will agonize until season 3
I had no idea medical workers get like a fast track on taking in foster kids. That's pretty cool. @imthegrimace hey Mr. "btw my girlfriend is a nurse if you were not already aware" go save some of Pittsburgh's orphans.
