I was in an episode of the real world pitt a couple of weeks ago. Was slicing a potato with a mandolin slicer without using the guard like an idiot... Sliced my fingernail right off, happened in a split second. Had to run to the ER. The pain was ridiculous and it was bleeding nonstop... Had to wait for like 1hr to be seen, pacing around in the waiting room while I put pressure on my bleeding nail bed. That is my story. Don't use mandolin slicers.
Gotta be careful with that stuff. In my life I have known at least two people who have lost fingers/hand in food prep incidents like that. A girl I went to high school with lost like 4 fingers while working at Coldstone.
I finally got one of those knife proof gloves to wear with my mandolin because I kept taking chunks of my fingers off lol
Nope she stuck her hand in the industrial ice cream machine at the wrong time and got her fingers chopped off. She was a minor (minors aren't supposed to be touching the machine in those places) so she got a huge settlement.
My wife was rushing through making our toddler his lunch and forgot to unplug the immersion blender before accidentally pressing the button while unclogging it with her finger. Wasn’t pretty! You can barely tell now though.
I’ve cut my thumb so many times with serrated blades working in BBQ. Shit sucks but a hazard of the job.
Using the meat slicer when I worked in a restaurant scared the hell out of me esp since the guy who trained me lost a fingertip to it
Another great episode S1 was definitely more your classic season arc. Build, have shit hit the fan at the midway point, and then by the least episode you're just wrapping everything up But here it kinda feels like everything has just been slowly bubbling now ready for it to all come to a head and have no idea how they are actually gonna do it
