I don't know if I am still down for a night shift spinoff. I don't want a The Pitt spinoff that is basically the same show but a different time of day. Give me a spinoff about Dr. Collins being a doctor and single mom in Portland. Give me a spinoff of Mohan trying to help old people as a Geriatric doctor. Give me a spinoff of Doctor J struggling between being an influencer and a new Psych resident. Point being is there are many different stories you can tell with these characters that don't have to be 15 hours in a hectic ER.
I still think a night shift season would be a good angle rather than an entire spinoff We’d see most of the day shift characters we love near the start and the end, and maybe one or two day shift docs fill in on the night shift
A season where the reoccurring guest cast are regulars and most of the regulars are reoccurring guest cast would be sorta neat. Just don't make it a whole new show.
My ex wife works like 3 12 hour days but she’s always going in early and staying late. And picks up like every shift she can. Often works 5-6 days a week mostly 12 hours at least. Usually one day will be like 6-8 hours. Probably the reason she’s my ex wife lol
Is pretty much everyone hourly and get OT from the extra shifts and working late or are the residents and folks on salary and just stuck working late because its their job? I guess the students are all "wait you're getting paid?"
I couldn’t tell if Robbie was saying he was thinking about quitting or if that was a suicidal thought at the end.
I think Robby started the shift with a plan to kill himself after leaving for his sabbatical, but has spent the whole time trying to convince himself not to follow through by looking for excuses why the ED would fall apart without him
For sure. Maybe it was obvious to everyone else right away, but I had a thought this morning while thinking about last nights episode. Now that we know his mom “left,” as he saw all the potential issues he is leaving behind, does he feel like he is doing what his mom did to him? Is that part of why he keeps trying to find reasons to stay? Or rather issues he must stay and address. Maybe I’m overthinking it.
the watch mentioned how it would be cool if they did a season that didn't begin with the start of the shift so we maybe get half the season day shift and half the season night shift. id be into that.
I don't watch this show but the discourse around it is some of the most bizarre stuff I have ever seen about a "prestige" TV show.
100%. I think it has probably had progenitors in Sherlock, Stranger Things etc but this is the first "prestige" one and its unsettling
Heard this in a few places too and I think it would be a nice logical step to keep the show feeling fresh. Also could have some reason for a few of the day shift to stick around a little longer too like they already do
