I never watched The Cosby Show really, I mainly remember him for playing himself playing fake Donavan McNabb and fake Tiger Woods in It's Always Sunny lol

Wait the turmeric lady was played by Noah Wyle's wife? lol

Patrick Ball's girlfriend also played the superglued eyelid patient earlier this season too. I don't have any strong opinions for or against partner nepotism casting, but it's interesting to see it this season.

  5. old nurse lady is gonna do a hate crime before the season is over. Whitaker and Santos are so cute. Al-Hashimi is definitely having the absence seizures. Digby is so cute with Emma and Dana is so cute with Digby. I hate "sleepmaxxing." I hate "Dennis." Santos channelling Dr House calling the lady an idiot (rightfully). Ogilvie probably dead now. Robby having mommy issues least surprising thing in the world. He is extremely unlikeable in this episode lol, wow you're not sure if the place will run without you should we call the news?

Something is definitely gonna happen with the MAGA nurse lady.

Agreed to your points, but just gotta be pedantic and point out that character is a medical office clerk and not a nurse.

All the story beats i read were going to happen this season have happened. For the first time I genuinely have no idea where this season is going to go these last few episodes.

I got to imagine the Baby Jane Doe case is going to suddenly escalate to cap the season off.

I think E14 ends with another episode from Al-Hashimi as the dramatic tension moment. Would help force everything with Robby to come to a head. A lot of this season has I think been him coming to the conclusion of "I need to stay because if I leave I might not come back" which is, of course, the wrong conclusion. He needs to leave, but he also needs to come back. Staying doesn't fix the fundamental underlying problems.

Thinking maybe if the "need an attending / no its okay we have Chen" line might be setting up Chen taking over as joint attending with Al-Hashimi. And then hopefully we end the season with Robby abandoning his motorcycle trip in favor of a trip with Noelle

I just really hope Javadi's plot this season ends with her picking Psych. Helping the family through their son/brother's mental health crisis was clearly the only thing this season Javadi seemed naturally comfortable and happy doing.

Her picking a third way that isn't either what her parents or Robby want from her would be the best choice for that character's plot.

I also like that we finally seem to got bubbly happy old Mel back this episode after being down in the dumps most of the season.

That "beep beep" to scoot someone over was adorable lol

Sometimes this show gets me thinking what kind of medical specialty I would choose if I were a med student.

I am like Joy a little. I don't like dealing with people face to face. I like the flexibility of working from home if I want. I like looking for clues and solving mysteries. I have terrible manual dexterity so no surgery. I don't like seeing blood and gore in person. I don't mind sitting for long periods by myself in a dark room. Radiology fits all those boxes. That would be my #1.

Pathology would be up there too, but they gotta sometimes do autopsies which would freak me out. They say Anesthesiology is also good for people who aren't great talking to patients and don't want to do a lot of crazy hands on stuff too, because most of your job is just monitoring patients while they're passed out.

For those who work in healthcare (or have friends who work in healthcare) how do the schedules actually work? I assume these folks still get days off? Does that mean their is a 4th attending who isn't Abbot/Robby/Al-Hashimi who covers when Robby or Abbot has their day off?

I would totally watch a night shift spinoff. I’ve been wanting more Abbot and the show has shown the ability to introduce new characters pretty flawlessly so far.

Not in healthcare but I believe with 12hrs shifts people are typically working 3-4 days/week and have the rest off. Probably depends on the workplace or even individual employees whether those days are back-to-back or not. So yeah there’s no chance that there’s only 2-3 attendings for the entire 24/7 ER

do you know if they tend to stagger who is working each shift? Like is there the "Robby's Crew" that works 4 days with all the same folks? Or is it really just artistic license that all the same people happen to be working the same day and in reality, expectation is that a couple people would be off?

Yep when I worked 12. It was 4 on 3 off 3 on 4 off. Honestly loved that schedule lol

From what I understand many ER attendings will usually work like 3 or 4 long 12 to 15 hour shifts a week give or take. Usually around 12-18 shifts a month.. I think the average is like 30 something hours a week.

ER residents work more, doing around 20-22 long shifts a month.

Prestige Pod taking inventory of what hanging thread case we have left these last two episodes. Really we just have Baby Jane Doe and Heat Stroke Mom left. Well and Al-Hashimi if you consider that a case. I don't see anything serious with Digby popping off.

Also Prestige said the only character this season that hasn't entirely worked is case manager Noelle Hastings.
