It’s almost like the show is trying to tell us that no one is truly all good or all bad. Robbie seems like a woman hater though
So I asked my girlfriend (who is a nurse, don’t know if I mentioned that) about the Langdon/Santos situation. We were talking for a few minutes and at first she said it was a tough situation to navigate but then I realized she thought that Robby told the board about Langdon stealing pills/drugs. Once she realized Robby never told the board she said that Langdon shouldn’t have been allowed back to work there and shouldn’t be allowed in a position with access to prescription drugs at least not for a while. She thinks that Santos is correct that Langdon should have to face the consequences of his actual actions but that Santos is also petty/vindictive and just wants to “beat” Langdon. Since Langdon is back already she thinks it’s up to him to tell everyone what he did but that she’d want to know if she worked with him. She also thinks Robby was in the wrong in covering for Langdon and if he was going to cover then he needs to not act like an asshole to Langdon. Also even with Langdon admitting he had a drug problem he’d be on strict supervision with counseling, random drug tests and all that fun stuff.
My guess is Robby didn’t tell the board partly bc he wanted to give Langdon a second chance if he went through recovery but also bc Robby didn’t want word spreading that he had a breakdown in the peds room in 1x13 I’m sure he considered how it could bite him in the ass eventually but probably bet he could keep everything under control somehow
No I don’t think that makes sense. Langdon told him that rumor of his breakdown had already been going through the grapevine, so it’s not like only Langdon and Whitaker knew. Plus it’s not like Langdon was threatening to reveal it, he only pointed it out to try to call Robby a hypocrite I think he was just sincerely conflicted about ending the career of his good friend. And like you said - as with everything, he personally feels like he’s the best most qualified person to deal with issues on his own over some apathetic bureaucratic board, so he decided to give Langdon a chance to save his career
If season 2 is following similar pacing to season 1 then tonight we are entering the same timing as the when Pittfest shooting arc started last season. Pittfest was peak episodes 12 & 13, then slowed down on 14 & 15. Am expecting tonight and next week to be crazy.
I’m kind of hoping it doesn’t “get crazy” in the same way. They’ve already set the stage for Robbie to stay late with his friend, and Al-Hashimi asked if he usually stays late to hand over patients to the night shift. We don’t need to have some kind of life shattering disaster every season.
