Even her like of AI... to some degree I think she's right. You can see that from Santos struggling to keep up with her charting. Doctors are overworked and if AI can help ease a bit of that workload, AI with a full understanding of the risks and pitfalls seems like a legitimatly good use of it Al-Hashimi just needs to do a better job earning the staffs trust before pushing for big changes like that. But I think the show has done a great job at showing she's a great doctor who simply came on too strong at first which clouded a lot of initial perceptions (Robby ain't leaving though. Noah is way too integral to the show)
Yeah all the annoying things she wanted to add/change have gone by the wayside once the tech went down. Primarily because all of it was depending on tech in the first place
still want to know what it is that was going on with her towards the beginning of the season but i get that's not the focus of the show
There could certainly be more details revealed as far as her experience, but I think it’s safe to say it was PTSD type moment due to her experience working in a maternity clinic. In episode 7, she tells Abbot she worked at one in the Middle East where a real life suicide bombing happened and Abbot is aware of it. May 2020 Afghanistan attacks - Wikipedia
I don’t think it’s that complicated. She’s a foil to Robby so them both having work-related trauma would make sense.
at a certain point, if it is just that she has PTSD, it feels a little lazy. that would be, what, the fifth or sixth doctor that has been a focal character that has PTSD they're suffering from?
i couldn't remember if it was neuro specifically, just that it was a doctor she was trying to get an immediate appt. with
PTSD can act as a trigger for underlying Epilepsy. PSTD and Epilepsy are actually strongly connected. People with PTSD have a higher chance of developing Epilepsy, and people with Epilepsy are almost 20% higher chance of developing PTSD. It might be both.
Interested in what will happen next episode in 2x11 that will propel final few episodes of the season. 1x11 is when they ended the episode with the "There is an active shooter at Pittfest" and 1x12 - 1x15 were the aftermath of that. There hasn't been much with Baby Jane Doe for awhile.
I think my favorite episode so far this season has been 2x6 12:00PM (the Louie episode that hyperfocused on nurses)
Abbott has mentioned having ~stuff~ relating to overseas and we opened the series with him on the rooftop talking about why do we bother coming back the same way Robby does now. Santos obviously has something stemming from childhood trauma.
Well yeah, people have trauma and it manifests in different ways. That’s always gonna be a thing in character-driven storytelling. Not necessarily the same as PTSD
I’d imagine patient-facing hospital workers are bound to have higher rates of PTSD than the general population just by the nature of their job. If multiple characters are dealing with it in some form or another and it’s not explained outright, I’m not going to be too questioning of it
im not questioning it lol. im just saying it would be more interesting if there was something else happening for the character. im not like "hmmmm strains credulity!" it's just less interesting.
