Iirc Langdon was originally supposed to come back on the fifth but the ED was short-staffed so Dana asked him to return a day early As far as the holiday-specific accidents go, there was the woman who burned herself after hearing firecrackers triggered her PTSD, but also we’re only approaching 2 pm so far and it makes sense that the vast majority of patients would be there for ‘regular’ medical emergencies bc those don’t take the day off
The boating accident too, lots of people out in the water on a holiday. Sure it happens all the time, but especially on a holiday.
I think today’s society just expects twists in their storytelling. Like you can’t have just a straightforward story without people expecting there to be a Sixth Sense style twist in the middle of it
And the guy who was hurt in the motorcycle accident was doing a motorcycle pyramid, almost certainly as part of some kind of parade of 4th-related event
Though there have also been multiple patients - the bulimic woman, the woman who got sepsis, and the guy with the healthcare issues - who were specifically freaking out about missing work lol
A server and a construction worker working on the 4th makes sense. A lady who works at the bank working on the 4th does not make sense.
Is there ever a point at which a character besides Robby and Santos learns that Langdon not only has an addiction, but stole / messed with patient’s meds to get them? In s1 Robby gives them back to Louie and pretends like it’s a mistake, and rewatching the first half of s2, it seems like all anyone else is aware about is his addiction. And I feel like he would have almost certainly lost his medical license if Robby actually reported him — having an addiction is one thing, but consciously putting client’s health in harm’s way like that for your own benefit is a different level of criminal malpractice
I was having a conversation with a former coworker about this show and we both agreed Santos sucks, but I remarked that she was right to turn Langdon in and this person said “turned him in for what? I just had missed that part.” And I just don’t get how people watch shows where they miss a primary storyline lol
My first watch through I also missed the inciting thing that made Santos suspicious, like there are scenes with Donnie and Garcia where she’s explaining her suspicions to them, but I remember thinking “wait why is she suspicious of Langdon in the first place” and it really is just one or two pretty subtle scenes before then that lay that out But to completely miss/forget maybe the single most dramatic moment of season 1 that isn’t Robby’s breakdown is baffling to me lol. He literally finds the stolen meds in the locker!
Yeah that line Robby says to Langdon on 2x1 "we have been covering for you for months" was an implication to me that Robby never told anyone about the stealing.
I saw of a doctor review of this first half of the season and they said Santos shows all the classic signs of BPD. I wonder if that'll come up at any point.
Thinking about how this show premiered almost a year and three months ago and we are already 23 episodes in. If this was a binge model streaming event type show about dragons or superheroes or some shit it would take like 7 years to get to that much runtime.
SA victim patient: I am so glad you were here today Nurse Dana: Me Too *end scene* I see what you did there The Pitt. Very clever writing.
I caught bits of it as a kid when my parents would watch it. I remember Clooney’s last episode being a big TV event.
