Perhaps you missed the obvious reason they chose that particular view for that shot. a dozen or so self harm lines on her left thigh
Episode felt a little off. Wasn't bad by any means. But felt like it lacked quite the same punch as the past couple of eps
I don't disagree but also admin is clearly also at fault here Scheduling Langdon to work under Robbie without taking with Robbie first is asking for trouble. I think Robbie is well within his right to be kind "make Langdon work the night shift or at another hospital" But also what's done is done. Robbie at this point needs to be an adult and not let his personal grievances get in the way of literal life and death medical care
Langdon has now apologized for endangering his patients/lying but he hasn’t said shit yet regarding what he actually did to Robby, which was basically shame him for having a few moments of a breakdown during the shooting. I’m sorta wondering whether or not that is going to come up again
The storyline with Illana, Dana, and Emma was one of the most emotionally visceral the show has done so far and I really appreciate how thoughtfully it was handled
The lighter moments in the episode were a welcome relief. Robby's reaction at both Al-Hashimi agreeing to drinks with Abbott and Mohan treating shirtless Abbott made me laugh out loud. Princess' face upon winning the betting pool too Re: Langdon and Robby, even though Robby has been avoidant, Frank still picked a bad time to work step nine with him but Robby picking on Frank in the ER afterwards seemed egregious. The show seems to be telegraphing that all the pressure this season will lead to Robby acting out in a way that has serious consequences, and I'm already sad about it
Loved Santos singing to calm the baby, though her treatment of Harlow has been highlighting a lack of sensitivity training. I'm glad Robby was able to get through to Roxie's husband about supporting her by respecting her wishes. Orlando's story continues to be heartbreaking, I was really hoping Mohan talked him into staying but can see why he legitimately feels that's not an option Anyways, the show continues to be great and next week looks like a big one. Da Pitt.
I don’t see why admin would be at fault. They’re all supposed to be medical professionals, letting personal grudges (about something that is not about a year old) get in the way of the job is on them, not whoever schedules their shifts. Robby is particularly bad at this both here and in season 1, despite fantasizing about this “enlightening” motorcycle trip. If Robby is opposed to Langdon working there then he needs to (1) voice this to whoever makes that call, then (2) if the power that be keep Langdon regardless, then he needs to do what so many other people do: grow up and accept that he has to work and get along with and *supervise* someone he doesn’t personally like. Instead he has no life outside The Pitt so it’s all far more personal to him than just being a job
ASL is not “English but signed.” A huge amount of Deaf people are not nearly as proficient in English as one might think. Communicating with her in any form other than ASL just creates massive ADA issues
this is such a funny post in a thread for a television drama, like yes Robby isn’t handling it great but it’s a tv show if he just comes back and is like hey what’s up Langdon that would be extremely boring. It’s like saying that other hospital should have had better IT so they didn’t get hacked because now the Pitt is too busy!!
I don’t really see what’s funny or odd about it. How is it any different from how anyone has ever talked about any fictional story ever? We’re having a discussion about the characters and their dynamics. If we were talking about a show like the Sopranos then we’d be doing the same thing — discussing who is in the right/wrong in a dispute and the nuances of why.
Getting so in the weeds about who Robby should have called about langdon’s schedule etc is funny to me sorry!
Then it was weird of you to quote my post to say that instead of clucky’s, given that my view on it was “who cares about scheduling, someone in his positions should learn to deal with it”

right. which puts Robbie in a tough spot because I think his overall feelings of "I'm glad you got help. But I don't know if I trust you in my ER" are still valid. But obviously the middle of the shift is not the right spot to have that conversation but you can't have that conversation any time else due to the nature of the show. So now Robbie winds up coming across like a bit of a dick. Ultimately makes for compelling television. Can't be too mad about it.
A show with perfect characters would not be interesting but chalking up all of their flaws to "otherwise it would be boring TV" defeats the entire purpose of discussing them at all
I misspoke in my initial post. Yes obviously discuss the characters and who is in the right and in the wrong but the scheduling and admin stuff and what not is what made me kind of roll my eyes.
