I think Santos was rightfully prickly with Mel in that moment, who on the surface just kind of seems to be looking for any kind of comfort or distraction today from her malpractice review. However I do have a feeling that Mel sees Santos struggling with the workload and is concerned that it will lead to Santos falling into a similar situation
A couple other fun facts I learned about Ned Brower (Nurse Jesse) besides him being the drummer for Rooney and being an actual certified ER nurse: He plays Mick Fleetwood in a longrunning comedic Fleetwood Mac tribute live show. He is Marc Maron's defacto band leader/music supervisor who had a large hand in the music used in Maron's podcasts/specials.
The dynamic between Robby and Al-Hashimi is super fun/uncomfortable/realistic. really well written to me
The Prestige pointed out the part with Whitaker catching the heart attack before it became lethal was a call back to Whitaker's patient that died in the beginning of season 1 that he was torn up over. Showing his growth as a doctor. Totally didn't make that connection.
Every episode has been better than the last so far imo. Psyched about having this to look forward to every week for like 3 more months

Yeah I think they seem to think it's because people yearn for pre-prestige TV, which is probably somewhat true. But the main reason this show is so beloved I think is because it oozes authentic human empathy from every pore and is pretty unapologetic about it. I don't think you can do that with a cop show, especially now. Hey who knows, maybe it'll be like The Wire or something. But I highly highly doubt it.
My money on the board for the college kid case is Sleep Deprivation Psychosis. Stressed out law student who stayed awake cramming for too long and it drove him insane.
