The dad definitely is giving off shitty vibes but the resolution of the daughter’s illness felt a bit obvious
That scene with Frank talking about fatherhood with Donnie and the bead kid’s dad/ reciting the blessing was so heartwarming
Shout out to Santos for absolutely keeping her cool with that dad and not making any blunt accusations despite us knowing she had very strong feelings about it, which she even still felt remorse for. Her character development continues 50 year old on a motorcycle lashing was real good The thing about that brain mass guy and his remarried ex-wife divorcing due to an undiagnosed illness he may have had is fucking heartbreaking Beautiful moment with Langdon, Donahue, and the dad during that bead removal I know it’s unethical but I kinda hope that thing with the dude hollering at McKay goes her way lol I found Javadi a little bit irritating in season 1 and this whole competitive plot with her is not improving that Hope Mohan gets some time to shine this season! Felt like she’s barely been around. She might be my second favorite after Dana
If the car crash couple didn’t go with the internal bleeding thing I was about to look up if there’s any drugs/supplements that would lead to a drastic deop in potassium levels
My gut feeling that a cast member is gonna get killed/injured by a patient this season + the LNP keep mentioning he is a new father every episode is scaring me.
What a fantastic episode. Jewish lady was amazing. Langdon with the dads was great. Having the Santos girl's dad still be a hot headed POS while (hopefully) not actually abusing her is a good way to take that storyline. Could've used more Mel but there's a lot of characters she can't be front and center all the time and every storyline is landing for me so can't complain I know it's not gonna happen but I'd honestly be okay if it just kept being a "normal" day at the Pitt
Anyone thinking a fireworks display will go haywire like this? (Here no one got hurt since they were in barges)
One (minor) complaint and one fear. Complaint - the actress for the new nurse really overacts and it's kind of distracting when the rest of the cast is so brilliant. This is a dumb small thing and likely just me. Fear - how long will they be able to maintain the 12 hour shift per season model of this show while staying relatively believable? If they go like 4-5 seasons, I'm afraid it will just grow more and more outlandish and absurd a la Grey's Anatomy where patients are waking up and can only speak while singing. That's an extreme example, obviously. I just hope the show wraps up nicely and doesn't wear out its welcome. Show rules either way
Prestige Pod saying them including the Tree Of Life shooting into the show felt "Too Newsroom-ey" and I see where they're coming from but I dunno I liked it.
I completely disagree with that idea. The Newsroom would have been if they heard about the shooting in real time and had to deal with the patients à la Pittfest. This was a beautiful vignette about the lingering nature of trauma and the small kindnesses that help us move on. The scene with the Muslim attending was brilliant. I also really like the care with which the show engages with Pittsburgh and its history. There haven’t been that many episodes of The Pitt, but this one might be in my top three. Teared up at like six different points. They’re on track for a masterful season.
Eh I kinda agree. It was also written by Noah wyle and felt like some of the stuff in s1 where they’d inject stats from the real world or get kinda preachy about stuff. Really felt like the scene with the older guy talking about how the one guy was a paramedic with the freedom house
They were also kinda down on the scene with Langdon and the dad. That Langdon casually quoting entire book passages felt too TV writer-ey for this show.
Mentioning the shooting and her being there I thought was fine but the continued discussion about it and the scene with Perla seemed forced and writer-y.
