glad this in an old thread. for a few minutes i thought you all went 8 pages in on pie in like 2 hours very glad to see pumpkin on top very very glad to have missed this cheesecake as a pie debate
I’m glad some of you had sense Best part is I saw this thread and immediately my brain was like “god damn I want cheesecake” hahaha
i've never heard anyone say the correct answer before edit: after the rabbit hole i just came out of, this is not the correct answer
I just don’t see what’s so different about tarts and pies lol. If you offered me a piece of pie and gave me a piece of tart I’m not gonna say “oh wait no I don’t want this, this isn’t what I thought you meant” lol
And my other argument was if Cheesecake is a tart, then how the hell is key lime pie a pie? Wouldn’t that also be a custard tart? Same with pumpkin pie! What makes THAT a pie and not a tart? Texture and construction wise it’s alot like cheesecake.
Olallieberry Pie is the only true winner. It should be in season any day now... if you can find it, try it. Best thing on earth. Bought a cherry pie from a local bakery for $27 the other day, just looked so damn good... and it was, but i'll never spend that much on a pie again.
I know we joke a lot about how “x is a sandwich” or “x is a burrito” and stuff but in all seriousness cheesecake is a pie, for all the reasons @Randall Mentzos put forward.
