There is no consensus culinary classification of cheesecake. It’s debated all over. Your main point was that it’s misleading language but so is Shepherd’s Pie, Pot Pie, Steak & Kidney Pie, Quiche, etc. all still pies. So that logical point is wrong
I feel like combining Chorus, food, and Matt and Randall was a MASSIVE mistake I can't handle all those elements in an argument at once
if only cheesecake was a frontman for a pop punk band we could get some of the tour forum posters in here defending it too and really make this a party
Cheesecake is a misnomer. This happens in the English language. Some compound words do not make sense.
Cheesecake is a type of dessert. Its not a cake or a pie. It's like calling a brownie a cake. If you cannot ever convey meaning using a word, then that word has no meaning. You can never say "pie" and have the intended meaning translate to cheesecake just like you can never say cake and have everyone instantly think brownie. But yeah I'm putting this nonsense on ignore now lol
You can never say pie and have people think “quiche” or “pot pie” either. I would think of desserts like cheesecake before I thought of savory pies. Your argument is just not considering all of the counterexamples to what you’re saying.
Only because he loves to point out that I have an ego about my opinions while unapologetically being even worse than me about that lol
I mean, those are all savory pies. this poll is clearly dealing with dessert pies. cheesecake is also a dessert. context is important. also I would never turn down a good quiche, even for dessert.
Just wanna say, I’m enjoying a piece of Banana Cream Pie right now and it’s only reaffirming my original vote from a year ago.
