Glad to hear! It feels so simple, almost silly, telling people their cat needs more water but their little desert kidneys feel much better with it.
Just watched Inside the Mind of a Cat on Netflix and it was a really fun watch. Wholesome and informative
Poor Midna is sick today . Last night around 1am, she vomited what looked like two full cans of food. Today, she only ate half of dinner despite being very food motivated (she eats like a dog), so we knew right away something was wrong. I caught her going to her litter box 4 times within an hour, too, so idk if she's actually going. Took her to the ER where they did some diagnostics and they said everything they could do there looked totally normal, but they are suspicious of a UTI so they gave us amoxicillin while we wait on the rest of her labs. Gave her some IV liquids and an anti nausea med as well. Hope she feels better soon, she has us worried sick. She's otherwise being a total sweetheart. @disambigujason I'm guessing it sounds like our vet is doing all the right things? I'm concerned about the fact that she doesn't seem to be digesting her food, but the vet didn't really say much about that other than the ultrasound looking good. She is pooping though, and it fucking reeks worse than usual lol
yea I mean with the caveat that idk this case personally it seems like they’re probably ruling out the routine stuff typically so far. A lot of things can present similarly so the impending labs, depending on what they are, will probably give you a lot more context on digestion and whatnot.
If it's any comfort, my cat just went through something very similar. Puked one morning in bed (which she never does), wasn't eating, and stayed in our bed for like 15 hours (which, again, never happens). We took her in out of obvious concern, bloodwork looked normal, and by the next day, she was eating a little more, more energetic, and within a couple days, she was back to normal. It was a $300 stomachache (and the best $300 you can spend). Hoping it's something similar for Midna!
Hey all, my poor boy has seasonal conjunctivitis. Because it’s related to allergies, the vet didn’t give us any antibiotics so we’re managing it with dog saline drops and cleaning his eyes. He still eats, plays, and walks with his usual energy, which is great. Is there anything else we can do though? Seeing him with a red eye and clearly uncomfortable is awful
Antihistamines! They don’t typically make dogs as drowsy as people expect, and while in my experience they work better for itching than conjunctivitis they’re definitely worth a try
Our dog got kennel cough from the dog park. I feel so bad and just want him to feel better. It breaks my heart.
I think I'd be a traitor to my New England heritage if I didn't have some Didn't know they sold it outside of here though, that's pretty sweet!
My pup was just going through the same thing. Poor guy would wake up with his eyes just covered in gunk. The vet told us to grab an antihistamine drops from the drug store.
I would like to just celebrate this amazing, beautiful companion who brought so much endless joy and laughter and comfort to my life these last 4.5 years. I’m going to miss a Callie for the rest of my life.
Update: he’s huge for a corgi/aussie. I hope he keeps growing haha. More of a mini aussie than a corgi
