Sidney! Named after Sidney Prescott. Funny story is that I was told that he was a girl and drove two hours to later find out he’s a little boy.
She somehow laid down in the perfect way where she looks fucking massive lmao I swear she's a healthy weight. Anyways, this pain in the ass wasted our time at the vet today and just wouldn't cooperate at all. So we get to drug her up with gabapentin and do this all over again!
Sadly had to put my dog Echo down today. She was a very good girl but in recent years she struggled with arthritis, and rapidly deteriorated over the last few days. Turns out she had cancer and we didn’t know, and basically couldn’t move this morning. I feel completely devastated.
I liked this post, but I don't like this. She looks like a great girl. You did what you had too. Her watch is now over DMs are open if you ever need someone to talk to.
So sorry to hear this. I'm certain Echo had an amazing life and you've made the appropriate decision for their quality of life. She looked like a wonderful pup.
so so sorry for your loss. cancer in dogs happens so fast and it’s really common for owners to not know until it’s pretty far :( it’s so hard to lose them but if they’re in that much pain it’s the best thing you could do for them
I’m so so sorry, @SamLevi11. Echo was absolutely beautiful. You did the best thing for her, please reach out if you need anything
How's he doing? I love beagles, but man, I forgot how stubborn and cheeky they are when they are untrained. Near where I am, there was something like 4,000 beagles rescued from an animal testing facility so we are fostering 1 at a time to help get them ready for a new home, and we got a female 2 year old, and she knows nothing lol. I understand a lot was from her 'upbringing' (if you can even call it that), but she's also stubborn and even though she doesn't really know about treats (which is a pain), she sure knows how to sniff the air and follow every smell of food (luckily our counters are high so she can't cruise by and grab a snack). Also, no motivation to go outside and she just freezes like she's broken when we put the leash on, but at least she can be handled and once outside she walks real well. She has no fear of humans or other dogs, and not a reactive/aggressive bone in here so she's easy to pick up and move to where you want her. She's now basically house trained now and starting to learn that she gets a treat when she does something that pleases us, so soon she'll be ready for a new home (I think my wife's mom is taking her). So basically her stubborn butt is all beagle. Good luck with your pup! We had an older beagle that stumbled into our life's in pretty good shape, so going back to basically a puppy in mentality (if not age), is a real challenge. Our current dog who is only like 20% beagle and then shepard and cattle dog mixes was so much easier and is the best boy in comparison.
