There's a new PC Music signing, Planet 1999. First single goes up tonight, link below. And here's from the Spotify bio: "Planet 1999 - PC Music's latest signing and the first-ever band on the label - are a London-based three-piece providing melancholic sub-three-minute bops juggling between shoegaze and bubblegum pop references, from Cocteau Twins to label mate Hannah Diamond. Their self-produced debut EP 'Devotion' will be released this autumn. It promises to be as short and intense as their motto "everything is about emotion", and as fun and playful as their imagery created in collaboration with visionary artist Leon Sadler." Sounds interesting.
PC Music Facebook post about this Planet 1999 single says: “Their forthcoming debut EP is among a wave of releases penned for the autumn of 2019 out on PC Music.”
Welcome to the club, we will waive your late fee this one time. (Listen to Danny L Harle if you haven’t, he’s the epitome of fun/party music in the PC crew)
Honestly wasn't feeling Planet 1999 when the first single dropped (admittedly, I only listened once) but the EP/mini-album is up for presave and I just went through the three released tracks and I'm super into it now. "Party" is my favourite of the three so far. The project is out March 6.
That and the first one with the wild vocal cut ups stood out most to me but it was all amazing. If he can keep the quality consistent across the whole project, it’s gonna be something else
all i know is that the 2nd song on this set shows up breifly in that 7 min mix so im sure the guitar section will be the one to kill me.
That one was sick too (sounded like Hannah Diamond even?). The last part with the Cecile Believe track sounded great too. I’m even more hyped for this now.
