Feels awful to say, but I'm at the stage of the pandemic where I could really use a break from the kids. I'm on summer holiday from university, and my wife works during the week, so I've had several months of no life outside of parenting. It's getting a bit much.

 

Not awful, it's normal. I don't think people are meant to spend this much time together lol.

 

Good advice! My son is 3 and we got him Spiderman masks that he loves. He even asks to wear them at home haha

 

Getting him used to masks as well. Just takes time.

 

Raced the sun to get some photos in tonight... had about 10 mins for setup/snapping before we lost the sun behind the clouds. But, man was she a snob between shots/trying to get her to smile lol. She's definitely over being our model for our business flyers, to the point where she said "you're making money off my picture?" which is of course what we always do/did for photo session ads. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Anyone know of good “budget” baby shower gifts. A friend of mine is expecting but because I live on my own now and pushing it to get by, I have not much money left over for anything but would like to get a gift. I know diapers and wipes are always good. Things that are listed on the registry aren’t something I want to pay full price for. Nearly $10 for a baby book... I rather buy books from a thrift store. What are items new parents wish they had or didn’t think of at the time? What would you like to get but didn’t?

@Carmen SD this thing is a little gross, but it came in major handy. Way more effective than a bulb syringe.

 

This is an extremely valid feeling. I only have 1 so far and I find myself getting short with her when I shouldn't. I guess it's all part of the experience.

Desitin Diaper Cream is like $6 and is a must for parents (or a similar type of diaper rash cream) and a cheap baby book could probably keep you under $10-$15 total.

Well..do yourself a favor and don’t research it, because I did and now every time I see him I cringe.

 

My daughter just asked if the virus will ever stop, and she wants to die. Parenting is a joy, ya'll.

 

Kids also want to die after you tell them no more French fries, so internal anguish is all relative.

 

My son hates the virus and calls it the “naughty naughty virus.” He says “I wish this virus would never come back.” I feel so bad for him. We do FaceTime calls with his friends when we can
