yeah are you sure it isn't Gavin Alexander after DGD and the Eidolon Alexander and Grayson after Dick Grayson?

My daughter is Scarlett Gabrielle. My wife is a hair stylist, and had 2 sisters as clients named Scarlett and Gabrielle, and the combination came to her in a dream basically. We had thought about Scarlett previously, though, because we're big Steel Train fans and liked their songs with references to Scarlett (so my daughter is named after Scarlett Johansson in a round about sort of way). If we had another girl we planned to name her Harper Marley (after Ben and Bob), and if we had a boy we were going to name him Winston Charles (after the protagonist of Nineteen Eighty-Four and my name)

Totally thought your name was Jimmy lol.

If and when we have a girl the first is gonna been Ella Lucille Christene and the 2nd daughter will be Harlowe Jeanette.

Most people do. It comes with the territory, haha. It's just a silly name I came up with in college and have kept it for something like 15 years.

She chose Gavin after DGD haha, I found out just last week it was the reason. And I like the name and I like DGD but not at a level where I thought I'd choose the name for that reason.

Cecilia was chosen by my wife, partially after "Cecilia and the Satellite" – Andrew McMahon is one of our favorite artists – and just a name we liked. Also, her cousins stole another name we liked, Eloise, and her brother took Elsie, which is a family name for them, but for me would have had more to do with the Horrible Crowes album. Hope was her paternal grandmother's name.

Evan came because we liked Owen but it's too popular right now, and I saw Evan listed somewhere as an alternative. Wallace is a family name on my wife's mother's side too.

My family is/was full of assholes, so no one gets their name passed on.

For us when and if we have a girl the first name will be Ella. This is a shortened family name on my wife's family side. It's short for Fruella but I sure as shit ain't naming my child that, I don't want her to be tortured in school.

Haha one of the family names on my wife's side that came up was Dwinell and I just said "NOPE!" and moved on.

That IS pretty bad. I hate to admit this cuz it seems stereotypical Southern but on my mom's side there are siblings named Duward, Delvin, Demsey, I think there is another too just can't remember the name.

I'd never heard of the name ryker before last year and I met 3 babies named that this year! I thought maybe it was from a recent movie I haven't seen or something

Well it's also partially for Star Trek but different spelling! It seems like it's getting more popular now unfortunately :(. Luckily I haven't met another one yet here and most people I've talked to have never heard it and like it.

Nothing wrong with popular names imo! It's the kids personality that makes them unique! I work with lil kids so I feel like I get to be on the pulse of trendy names lol. Saphira is also a big one rn. I know like 4 of them haha. As an oddly named kid I'd prob name my kids something boring and popular so they don't aquire my complex about not finding keychains in souvenir shops with my name on it

Oh he definitely has a gigantic personality already at 7 months old!

I can relate to the not finding your name in souvenir shops! My wife's name is Ashley so the only issue she has is them being out of stock lol

Sup guys? Sorry I haven't been posting much, I work six days and have a toddler who is very sensitive and trying to start his terrible twos a little early.

Edit: if we have another son in the future, I'm pushing for Nolan because I miss Straylight Run.

Oh boy, my son turned 7 months last Friday and boy has he been mobile ever since! Started crawling, but not normal crawling, more like an army crawl on his arms but he's getting better every day so he'll get there! Boy does he move pretty quick though haha. He feels so proud of himself playing "fetch" with his toys!

So our baby has a really congested nose and it drives me crazy because he hasn't figured out how to breathe out of his mouth yet. I keep having to put the saline drops on his nose and then clear it out and he hates it so much, especially at night. I can't wait for this stuffiness to end.

Have you tried a humidifier? Helped us last month, didn't completely clear it up but definitely helped.

We thought about getting a humidifier when our kid was congested and coughing, but before I bought it, I bought this indoor humidity monitor and all levels are OK so we ended up not getting one. Congestion eventually passed.
