One of the doctors with the Cleveland Clinic. I figured I’d take a guess because I know a few others who’ve had him

A woman at my work said if she gets her tubes tied, her grandma will pay off her car lol. This woman is willing to pay 25k for her granddaughter to stop having kids.

What was your recovery experience like? Did you miss any work? I know you play b-ball too, how long could you not play for.

My doc told me I could go to work tomorrow (I got it done today) and that I only need to ice today. I feel like everyone’s experience is so different.

I had mine done on a Thursday morning and took off the rest of the week but honestly I could’ve gone into work just fine on Friday. I didn’t play basketball for about a week and a half because I was worried about getting hit there. I had to get a stitch and was worried about it getting opened back up!

All in all, a pretty smooth recovery though!

Yeah, I have one stitch too. Although, the incision looks much bigger than I anticipated. Did you ice for more than one day? I’m on my 12th 30 minute icing.

How long did it take for stitch to fall out?

I iced a bit on the second day but only a couple times.

The stitch took about 2 or so weeks to fall out from what I recall!

I think I’m gonna stay home tomorrow just to play it safe.

Today I watched the entire Season 3 of Love (12 episodes) and an episode each of The Walking Dead, Atlanta and Barry.

Who knows what tomorrow will bring.

  11. We're trying for a second which has proven much more difficult than the first. Once that's done, I am getting it done. This helped.

30-hour update: I feel suspiciously fine. Like to the point where it feels like I didn’t even get anything done (knock on wood). My stitch is already hanging out a good amount, which worried me so I called the doc and he said it’s completely normal. Sleeping was a bit uncomfortable, I normally sleep on my stomach (which doc told me I could continue to do right away) but felt weird sleeping on my stomach so early.)

    I pray this continues.

Haha, my doctor actually told me I can ‘resume sexual activity at any time’ not that I’m in the mood or anything. Everything I’ve read online says 7 days so I think I’ll go with that despite what doctor said.

I read 7-10 days so I erred on the side of caution!

If the internet advice is more conservative than the actual doctor’s advice, I don’t see an issue ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

That’s not what I said, I’m saying in general.

Any time my wife 'WebMD's' symptoms, it comes back as some form of cancer...I've tried banning her but it doesn't work.

  20. It's extreme but as a joke you can block the site on your router and then you'll likely forget about it until the next time she looks something up. That's something I would do.

  21. I just finished watching this doc. SO GOOD. A bunch of dudes from punk bands you'll know from being on this site talking about being parents and coming to terms with all that comes with that responsibility.

Yeah, I’ve read anywhere from 72 hours after to 10 days. I can’t believe how casual my doctor was. Said I didn’t need to ice more than 1 day, could return to work day after, running/sports within 5-7 days (I’m gonna wait 10 to 12 days), no restrictions on alcohol pre or post (I’ve read not within 48 hours before or after), told me I could drive home (which I did but I read a lot of other docs say you needed someone to drive you home) and no restrictions on sexual activity.

    Oh well.

Not gonna lie, today (72 hours following) has been the toughest day. Feels sensitive to the touch (and only to the touch - it's fine to walk, take deep breaths, bend, do normal activity) but it didn't feel that sensitive the first few days (although I'm not sure how much I tried to touch the area the first few days).

Iced the first day for a total of 7 hours (30 min on/30 min off for 14 hours), iced 3 or 4 times the next day - stayed home from work and didn't do much around the house. Yesterday, went back to work and felt mostly fine all day, went home and did a few light loads of laundry. Last night I started to notice the sensitivity. It's not really swollen or bruised to the naked eye (everything looks normal - other than the stitch area), but not sure what's going on 'in there.'

Maybe did too much bending/lifting? This normal @bachna84, @Chris Prindle or nah?
