It'll probably be another year or more before we even trim his but that's not completely unexpected though as Momma didn't have hair until she was like 3!
I know this post is over a month old now, but my son also adored the letter of the day/number of the day song. He'd get so excited and start dancing. Now Sesame Street season 47 has started and they've essentially overhauled everything. So far he's pretty disappointed in the new letter/number songs. He's kind of into the new numbers song with Cookie Monster, but overall he just doesn't seem as interested. I'm also a little bummed out by the new season so far (not that I have much to judge it by as there's only been two episodes, but even so). Before the new season started I read that they were cutting out the material also geared toward adults. Reason being they did a study showing that adults don't watch it with their kids as much as they thought. So far you can tell the difference and I'm a little disappointed because I definitely watch it with my son. Some of their movie and tv parodies were hilarious. Ah well. Guess I should give it time.
That sucks that they changed those songs, especially cuz they haven't been around that long. We don't have HBO so we've been watching it on PBS/PBS app or through Amazon Prime Video. I've really enjoyed the Cookie Retellings of Classic musicals, books, movies, etc.
Had to rush my 2-year-old to the ER last night for his first ever stitches. We have a glass coffee table in our living room that he finally went head first into. Had a pretty nice gash in his forehead that needed four stitches. Dude was a trooper, FELL ASLEEP while they put the stitches into him I think it was harder on my wife and I then it was on him. Hopefully the scarring won't be too bad but it's high enough on his forehead that his hair will cover it.
Holy shit that's scary! Glad he's fine and it worked out okay..always the fear so glad it wasn't too bad.
Glad all is well! Luckily we don't have a glass coffee table but as much as he falls I'm sure he's bound to hurt himself one of these days. Constantly has goose eggs on his head and bruises
We've had the glass coffee table since before he was born and we always thought we'd have to take it away once he was born and able to move around, but we kind of did a 'wait and see how he deals with it' kind of approach once he was able to move around/walk/run and he was always good around it, so we never did get rid of it or put it elsewhere. He actually was jumping on the couch when it happened and just bounced into it from off the couch. I'm actually wondering if the table broke his fall which may have helped him from smashing his face into our wooden floor - which may have been worse. I don't know. The weird thing is, my wife and I were just talking the other day about how he's never really gotten injured yet. Sure, he gets bruises and bumps, but no serious cuts or falls that needed medical attention because the kid jumps around like a monkey all. the. time. Nonetheless, a very scary situation. Funny sidenote...I did have to call 9-1-1 once before. He has a potty training toilet where the top part (where you sit) is very squishy but the bottom part is extremely hard plastic. I was making him dinner about 5 months ago and he came walking into the kitchen with the toilet hanging around his neck. He was able to breathe fine because there was plenty of room between his neck and toilet, but because the hard plastic part was now facing up toward his head, we couldn't get it off him. He was able to squeeze his head in through the top squishy part, but not the other way around. I had to call 9-1-1 so they could come over and get it off. All they had to do was grease up his head and grease around the toilet to squeeze it off him, which I tried to do by myself, but he was too frigidity and going nuts. They were able to calm him and kind of hold him down to do it.
Hahaha that's pretty hilarious in hindsight. I'm now worried what my child is gonna be like when he gets older, he is constantly walking around with random shit on his head because he thinks it's fun!
Awesome pictures. The dog one is priceless. We have a pug and the two of them absolutely love each other. Although my kid thinks it's hilarious to terrorize the dog by chasing him around the house with wrapping paper tubes. So scary, the same thing JUST happened to my nephew yesterday. My sister in law was baby sitting my kid and called my wife to come get him because my nephew fell and split his forehead open. He didn't need stitches, just glue (is that a new thing?). I saw a picture last night, it looks terrible, but fortunately he doesn't seemed bothered by it, at all. We have one of those water cooler jugs that we use for spare change, he loves to put his whole hand in when he puts change in there, the problem is, the older he gets his hands are getting bigger - and they keep getting stuck. I was nervous one day the same thing would happen, so I put together a lid with a slit so we can put change/dollars in, but not little baby hands!
Yeah, they'll do glue if the cut is small enough to be pushed together with glue. Unfortunately, my son had a decently sized gash. Honestly looked like a third eye. To the point where I got very, very nauseous (I don't do well with blood) and had to leave the room for a little while.
Yeah, he loves grabbing for hugs. He also gets excited and then chases the dog to "hug" him and the dog just runs. It's awesome haha. It's awesome watching them play though, as I bet you know. So cool
So I'm in the home stretch for baby #2 over here. We're in any day mode. It's been 5 1/2 years since I did this so I've got a little dread about diapers and lack of sleep. Ignorance truly was bliss. Can't wait to hold him though because the good far outweighs those things.
Winston Charles. First name after the protagonist from Nineteen Eighty-Four, middle name is mine and my dads (didn't want to make him a third because we've had so many weird credit/banking issues that I didn't want to add another to the equation). We've had Winston as our boy name since before we even knew the gender, but feels super weird now with that book being so popular again. Wasn't expecting it to be so topical!
This guy is so fricking awesome. He constantly hugs and kisses me, runs and hides giggling the whole time, hands me a book to read to him, etc. Also, my wife just opened her own salon, so I was putting together the chairs, he just came up to me, laid down on the ground like I was and just stared at what I was doing just learning new things - it was the coolest thing ever.
Reminds me alot of my dude. Always wanting to be into everything and "help" Also has about the same amount of hair
Been sitting at the hospital since 4:30 yesterday afternoon. Waiting for this little guy to get out here. He's taking his sweet little time.
When is the due date? Also I remember how that went for us, except we weren't exactly prepared to be admitted into the hospital
Damn he really doesn't want to come out of there then. Sounds like you are gonna have a difficult one on your hands!
