I get 10 PTO days per year to use own want and they roll over. I’ve been saving them for when we have the baby. I used 5 and will go back on Monday. Hooray for Thanksgiving break being in the middle of it
Surprisingly enough despite our son having heart issues early on we are three months in and have decided to finally use the “owlet sock” for the first time. Expecting chaos tonight by it going off by him kicking it off or us messing up putting on. Wee guy has a cold and a cough.
Toddler had initially been great since arrival of baby but we have had increasingly challenging behaviour (hitting, running out of the room, turning lights on and off) during the bed routine now after 2.5 weeks of new sister. Toddler is normally asleep between 745 and 815 with us leaving room, Friday was 10pm and currently on 9pm tonight with us having to sit and saying he's not tired. Tough storm to weather. Anyone experience the same?
My parental leave has ended and I ahve to go back to work tomorrow (for one week before christmas break starts, so dumb) and it sucks. Also it snowed here last night and I took a video of my 6 year old, 1 year old, mom, and wife all in the snow in my front yard and just taking in that scene got me choked up a bit. It's the 1 year old's first time out in the snow and he was loving it, and my oldest was loving it, and any time there's a little magic in childhood for my kids it makes me so happy.
Sleep stuff is so hard man. Feels like Thanksgiving night totally destroyed out original schedule, he was doing pretty well with training for a while but has lately taken to being up until about 11pm and still waking up right around 6am. And if he does go to be on-time (between 8 and 9pm), he's waking up at least once for a bottle in the middle of the night. Could be worse, but the past couple of nights, he's woken up like three times. I don't know if it's teething or our caretakers letting them sleep with them during the day or what, but my wife and I's sanity is being tested. Might need to do a hard reset of sorts during the holiday.
While I haven't had an identical situation, my son went through some very rough sleep problems after he broke his leg and my only quick advice here is that it will pass and it will get better, keep your head up
He somehow slept four and a half hours throughout the day yesterday and then slept through the night last night for the first time in probably a month, so nothing makes sense anymore lol. We are going to try letting him sleep as much as he wants/needs up until 4:30 and then cutting naps off and see what happens
My son’s bedtime routine has become a disaster. It has been averaging 2+ hours now to get him to sleep. Everything has to be just so, and if one thing is off it’s all back to square one over and over again. When it gets real bad he gets frantic in there and scream and basically tears apart his room. I honestly just don’t know what to do about it anymore.
My baby is a little over five weeks old and is not sleeping the last couple days. She didn’t fall asleep until 1:00 AM yesterday. It’s 2:00AM now and she’s still wide awake. When she did fall asleep during the day, it was only for 10 minutes. She’s not fussy…just looking around. We have the lights off, no screens on, whispering…idk.
Well.. after years of trying to have a second child, (my daughter’s 7), my wife and I found out we’re pregnant! But wait! There’s more…. Fucking twins! My wife has been through multiple miscarriages and was on the verge of giving up, but she wanted to give it one more go. She’s an absolute gem. Wish us luck!
I have been solo parenting a 5 year old girl having to go between my divorced families houses for the holidays. Today’s my last day. I’m so goddamn tired holy shit
Awesome! Went through an intense struggle to have my first and my wife didn't get pregnant until we decided to give up and adopt a dog instead...the day we filled out the application for the Rescue Paws we found out we were having a baby....of course without even trying we were pregnant again for our second 18 months later lol
Didn’t want to jinx it earlier but it’s official now. My 3yo is completely potty trained and we’re DONE buying diapers forever. I hope
