Yeah, I am not handling the stress of sleep regression well. Feel like I'm having a physical anxiety response every time he starts crying after I put him down :(
Feel that dude. I'm currently sitting downstairs with earplugs in while wife does bedtime so I can regather myself.
Last night I started in my bed, moved to the couch when my daughter started fussing so the monitor wouldn't keep my wife up, then ended on my son's floor when he woke up earlier than I wanted. We'll all get through it!!!
it’s pretty common that kids regress when a new sibling comes, even before the new baby is born. it’s like they can sense the change coming. our oldest started peeing on the floor, weird tantrums, the whole bit. it all levelled out pretty quickly though.
Took my son to his first football game Sunday and it was a blast since the Eagles scored so much haha. Football is probably the worst sport in person vs on tv but that was about as good as it gets
Nine(!)-month-old is sleeping better this week but I am so tired I feel physically ill, lol Wife and I are celebrating our third anniversary on Saturday and he is staying overnight at his aunt's for his first time. It's going to be strange, but I am hoping to get so, so much sleep. And alone time with the wife. We could really use it.
I’m sure it’s something all parents of two+ kids go through but it’s hard to feel like we aren’t ruining our oldest’s life with the new baby and all the changes from it
We were afraid of that and wanted to game plan for making sure he had plenty of alone time/trips out of the house with us only. However we lucked out cuz our oldest is pretty independent and just likes to do his own thing most times and didn’t get jealous.
she's definitely regressing hard and asking for pacifiers and throwing some tantrums. it's easier on the weekend bc yeah i can take her out and about while my wife is with our bb but it's tough during the week going to and when she gets home from school
Was awakened by a quick case of croup last night and we spent 4 hours in the ER last night. A steroid shot in the ass already has made it so much better
yeah we were freaking out when holly got it last winter and like immediately felt better after the shot lol
Also had middle of the night ER trip with my son back when he was 3. Hes 6 now and still talks about how fun it was to go to the hospital in the night, haha.
We’re possibly taking a last minute trip to Disney and Universal in 10 days and I was doing some research and I’m pretty sure I already knew all this but I was sad to see a lot of the rides/experiences I did when I was 8 years old at Universal are gone/changed. The Jaws and Earthquake rides were peak and they’re both gone now. but yeah if anyone has any tips or pointers for Disney/universal (6 year old and 11 month old), I’m all ears. All I know for sure is we’re hitting up Epic for the Super Mario Bros world
As a heads up, there's a GIANT mouse that wanders around Disney. Don't worry or get too scared, it's just a person in a costume.
I don't have any advise for Universal but I've been to Disney a bunch. Focus on one or two things each person wants to do at each park and focus on doing those and anything else you get to do is a bonus. If there are certain rides you want to do look into lightning lanes and if you want to purchase them or not, depending on the ride and how long you're willing to wait
have taken my 3 year old to disneyland multiple times and we basically just let him dictate the day between rides, meeting characters, getting snacks, etc
